Search for the Fairy Star

Over Christmas Piglet discovered the wonderful world of tutus. To which you can find her most days trotting around the living room wearing one of her tutus (or all of them) she is slowly gathering (as you can never have too many tutus in your life!).  Whilst she loves twirling around the room you’ll also find her with a book in her hand.

Celebrate Easter with the Twirlywoos

CBeebies favourite Twirlywoos is a pre-school series featuring the antics of four, fruit-tea loving bird-like friends. A combination of stop-frame animation and live action sequences set in the real world, the series uses fun and laughter to encourage children to think for themselves and gain confidence in their perceptions of the world.

Peter Rabbit and Mr McGregor’s vegetable garden!

As a little girl, I can remember the stories of Peter Rabbit being told by my mum.  Beatrix Potter held a special place in her heart. Especially as my older sister was called Jemima Puddle Duck for two weeks until my parents could think of a suitable name for her. I think they should have stuck with it, it would have suited her.

Frozen, Forever Country and Flowers #LittleLoves

This week was back to reality with no snow to admire and enjoy.  It’s very much been about getting back into the normal family routines with Piglet back at nursery and to-do lists to complete.  I’ve been feeling a little meh since Monday evening, with a migraine waking me up this morning.  I’m hoping for an early night to recharge my batteries.

Star Wars, Read Aloud Day and Beast from the East #LittleLoves

Oh, what a week! I have to confess to being a little sceptical when I saw the weather reports over the weekend suggesting that we were about to enter a deep freeze.  The Beast from the East certainly made their presence known.  With the world around us looking more like a scene from a movie rather than the end of February in the UK.  Instead of our usual scattering of snow, we received a thick blanket that is still covering most of the area.  With just the roads and some walkways starting to turn to slush.  It’s still very cold, but oh so beautiful!

Encouraging children young and old to #KeepReading

Today marks World Book Day, a day where we celebrate the authors, the illustrators, the publishers and the stories that have brought us all so many fond memories.  Yesterday my children’s school celebrated Read Aloud Day, encouraging the children to pick up a book and read it aloud for a teacher, a classmate, a family member or anyone who wanted to hear a story.  It was a privilege to be able to sit and enjoy stories with the children.  Each finding something new within the story to focus on, a favourite character or loving the illustrations that helped bring the story to life.

CAKE, Get A Job and Jakemans #LittleLoves

From Wednesday onwards I have spent most of the days attempting to recall what day of the week it actually is.  Thinking it was a day later than it was, which when I remembered that it wasn’t was a good thing as I had more time to achieve a few more things on my to-do list.  At the moment I’m splitting my time between producing content and playing catch up those blog admin tasks that I never seem to get round to.  I’m thinking it might be more productive to dedicate one day a week to just that so that I can make headway on the mountain of things that need doing.  All tedious tasks but once completed will hopefully make things run more smoothly.

Have yourself a Trolls Holiday

Last year we welcomed Trolls into our lives.  We were very lucky to be invited to the Trolls BFI Gala Screening – which was simply amazing!  This was Piglet’s first visit to the cinema, which she thankfully enjoyed due to the bold colours, amazing soundtrack and a packet of Wotsits.  Fast forward to this year and we had downloaded the film onto our Sky box (yes I am too lazy to keep putting the DVDs in and out of the DVD player) for us to watch one weekend.  The Trolls movie is a hit with all of us, but none more so that Piglet… Oh, my goodness, how she loves that film and Princess Poppy.
