What sleeping position do you sleep in?

This is a partnership article

Do you find yourself tossing and turning at night, unable to find a comfortable sleep position that you can really relax in and find to suit your needs? If so, you’re not alone. Lack of sleep isn’t uncommon among the general public and more than likely, it’s a quick and simple fix that you can actually take care of easily.

Before diving into the simple solution, let’s identify the different sleep positions that tend to be the most common.

Sleeping on your side

Laying on one side of your body or the other takes a bit of a balancing act, which is why most people hold onto something while they’re doing this. Some people hold onto another person, or maybe even their pillow. Whatever floats your boat really as this tends to be the most popular sleeping position among adults. You can add this side sleeper pillow to your nightly routine and you might find that you get a night of better sleep than you ever thought possible.

Sleeping on your back

This position is one where you’re lying stiff as a board, on your back. For whatever reason, people tend to snore more as well when in this position and snoring can actually make you get a less restful sleep as well. Sleeping on your back can leave you feeling “vulnerable” since your body is wide open but there are those who sleep on their back every night that claim that their back doesn’t hurt any longer.

Sleeping on your stomach

Stomach sleepers look like they take up the whole mattress, and for some, they might! People sleep on their stomachs because they like that pressure on their abdomen area and it tends to help them relax and fall to sleep. Just be aware that there is a chance that sleeping on your back can cause stresses and issues on your joints because most times, you’re sleeping in a position that isn’t quite natural to your body.

Find your perfect pillow

One of the easiest ways to get a better night’s sleep is to make certain to find your perfect pillow. We’ve all had different pillows and have noticed that some are flat, some are puffy, and some can be downright different. But your body needs to have a pillow that will conform to it and allow your body and joints to be in a natural position when using it.

How many times have you woke up only to have a stiff neck and you’re not quite certain why? More than likely, your stiff neck is from the pillow that you were using and it happened because the thickness of the pillow put your neck in an unnatural position.

Don’t make this mistake over and over again. If you’re looking for a pillow that can actually assist you in getting a good night’s sleep, there are great options out there! Understand what you’re looking for, discover what your body actually needs, and then welcome your new pillow into your bed to have some of the best rest, ever.
