Blogging 101 | Tips For Successful Link Building

As a blogger, you have likely heard that building links is an excellent way to increase traffic. This isn’t news; marketers have been using link building for years to populate more traffic and improve rankings on the search engines. However, there are numerous ways to go about landing credible links that will show more authority and trust in the eyes of mega search engine giants like Google.

An off-site link is precisely that. A link that exists on another website that points back to your site. This can be on social media, other businesses webpages, or even on free tools like Google My Business. They are an essential aspect of any good SEO campaign and can do wonders for generating more income for your client or your business. Because you aren’t only building the SEO strategy, you are devising ways of growing a business.

Referral traffic is one of the top ways webpages see an increase in traffic. It isn’t always about ranking high on the search engines, as much as we would like it to be. Sometimes, your audience finding you in other places around the web will produce the effect of bringing in more customers. For this reason, placement and quality are critical.

There is no set way to build links, nor is there a one-size fit all strategy. But there are some basic go-to points you should be using that can be beneficial in seeing better results in the links you put up.

Always Know Your Audience

This is pretty basic, but you would be surprised how many people skip over this step. Identifying who you are trying to target will be crucial for every other aspect of your link building strategy. If you can’t detect your audience, there are minimal chances you will get the results you desire.

Figuring Out Which Sites Your Audience Visits and Enjoys

Just like with the first step, knowing where your audience is, can be a useful tool, and one you shouldn’t overlook. If you are a plumbing company, your target audience would likely be residential homeowners. What do homeowners look up? They browse for several things some of the top being home improvements, DIY, and many more. When placing links, think about where you might find your audience and go after these locations. Create a list of these websites to post or reach out to, when building links.

Content Creation That WOWs

If you’re writing generic pieces, your audience will see right through this. In addition to turning off potential customers, the sites you wish to place a link won’t be impressed either. Writing lousy content isn’t going to get you anywhere. Make sure that every link you put out is written with a purpose and speaks to the audience, and delivers something worth using.

Using Domain Authority Stacking to Your Advantage

Domain Authority Stacking, or DAS is a useful tool for building your links by posting on higher traffic sites. Social media sites like Facebook, or WIX to create websites, are just a few ideas to generating higher ranking links.  Reach Out To Local Businesses

If you have written a fantastic blog, and want to share it, sometimes doing the leg work of talking to local business owners can help you get more attention. For some marketers, you may find it helpful to swap blog postings, if they have a piece that will be of value to your customers. This can be an excellent tool to build not only links but your network.

Conclusion

Building links is not only helpful for generating more organic traffic to your website, but it will also increase your online presence. The more links you have out, the better the chances of customers finding you. Don’t make it difficult for your audience. Deliver fantastic content, that they can’t help but click through to your pages.
