Whilst digital technology can play its part in interactive learning, it is something that our children should not rely upon for entertainment and engagement.
Piglet like most preschoolers loves to learn with visual, audio and musical prompts. Not wishing to turn to screens we have been exploring ways in which we can engage her with different subject matters. What we thought of TIMIO
Like any parent, I opened up the TIMIO player before I gave it to Piglet. Setting it up by adding 3x AA batteries, before opting to have a little play myself. Which was lovely to see how easy it was to use and change the discs etc. It’s wonderful to see that the set includes 20 different discs as standard, allowing Piglet to select from a variety of words, music and stories.
Piglet loved seeing this set up in her bedroom when she arrived home from preschool. Quickly showing her how to switch it on and change the discs I headed off to make the tea. Within minutes I could hear her counting, singing and laughing whilst playing with the TIMIO.
With a handy pouch to keep all the discs together, it makes it portable for her to take around the house and in the car.
