There’s no denying that life is busier than ever. When we think back to our own childhood years we can recall long, carefree days. Just how it should be. However, becoming a parent changes those carefree days and suddenly life and the pressures that go with it take over. Time seems to pass at an alarming rate and sometimes we need to stop, take a look around us and appreciate the everyday things in our lives. Ensuring that recentre ourselves and understand why we do all the rushing around and what we are achieving from it.
The lead up to Christmas can feel even busier, with additional pressures on our time. From school activities, longer working hours and ensuring that the Christmas shopping is completed before the big man visits on Christmas Eve. When it comes to Christmas shopping it is all about shopping smarter not harder. Start with a list of the people you need to buy for, write gift suggestions against each one. For the people you struggle to buy for always shop for these first. For two reasons, firstly whilst you’re looking you may stumble upon something for someone else and secondly, you’ll feel so spurred on when you do fit that perfect Christmas gifts for Dad (Grandad, Brother, Son – yep you’ve guessed it, I find buying for men difficult).
Be a Rebel Icon
Mr Boo is the type of person who looks at a watch time and time again throughout the day. Even if he has just looked at minutes beforehand, almost as though the actual time didn’t register the first time around. He wears a watch from morning til night only removing it for sleep, for a replacement battery to be fitted, or most recently as the clock face cracked. When he isn’t able to wear a watch he is quite comical to ‘watch’ as he keeps glancing at his wrist to check the time.
To ensure that he is able to keep an eye on the time (as often as he would like to) he was recently gifted the Thomas Sabo Rebel Icon watch. A different design to the previous watches he has owned, however, I have to admit that the matt black ion-plated stainless steel bracelet looked so stylish and smart. Perfect for every day and still look smart enough when styled with a shirt and trousers for a meeting (or a very rare date night). Whilst the detailed 3D-look skull on the watch face adds that segment of interest.
Father and son quality time
Whether you are a parent to one child, two or even more then you will understand just how important it is to set time aside for them. Whilst family time together is something that everyone can enjoy, it is the one on one time that can help strengthen the bonds. To highlight the quirks in personality, to connect over jokes and shared stories.
Mr Boo loves to take the children out one on one to ensure that they feel special for that hour, afternoon or day depending on what they are doing. It doesn’t have to be anything special, for the children it is the time spent with their Dad that is important.
Stop the clock
Whilst the gift of a new watch might not give them more time. It will make them think of you each and every time they check the time. Given the number of times that Mr Boo checks the time throughout the day we will never be far from his thoughts. Plus it might encourage him to finish that segment of work quicker so he can get back home in time for family film night – where the children will be hoping that he doesn’t check his watch for the time or he might notice that it is well past their bedtime.
Give the gift of time this Christmas
If you want to give the gift of time this Christmas then may I suggest to take a look at the Thomas Sabo men’s watches collection. They have an amazing selection whether you are looking to treat your partner, Dad or Grandad. Plus if you’re looking for a little something for yourself, may I suggest taking a look at the Charm Club.
