Before Hitting the Course

When you are ready to hit the course, you want to be prepared. I would recommend that you have a comfortable pullover like the hugo boss golf jumper from Function 18. Made from either lambswool, polyester, or fleece, these pullovers are warm and maintain their sharp look even after it has been thrown in the golf bag all morning.

Northern Ireland

There are two golf courses that are a must when you are looking for a course in Ireland. The Royal Portrush has reopened after its almost 70-year absence. This course is based around large sand dunes and offers coastal views. Known as one of the best golf courses in the world, if you are looking for courses in Ireland, this should be at the top of your list.

The other world-renowned course in Ireland’s Royal County Down. Located in the Murlough Nature Reserve, this is one of the best courses in the British Isles. Known for hosting many top class golfing tournaments, Royal County Down is a long course with narrow fairways. The course is not only challenging, but it is also beautiful to look at. When playing at the Royal County Dawn, beware of the 9th hole. This is famous for being one of the most challenging holes in golf and can cause a problem for even the most seasoned and talented golfers.

England

England is known for its hidden gem courses as well as its well-renowned courses, like the Royal Birkdale and Royal Liverpool. The Royal Birkdale is known to be a challenging course, in nice weather, but when the coastal winds are in full force, it is taken to a new level. For any serious golfer, this is a must play course. Make sure to land on the fairways because anywhere else is sure to cause you trouble.

The Royal Liverpool, one of the best courses on England’s coast, is a twelve-time host of the British Open. This is a beautiful course with views of the shoreline from the 9th-12th holes, and views of the large dunes from six holes. While the dunes give protection from the wind, it also provides its own challenges.

Scotland

Scotland is a place of pilgrimage for many golfers. Featuring a long history of golf, every golfer should experience golfing in Scotland at some point. Two courses that should be at the top of your lists is St. Andrews Old Course and Carnoustie Championship Course. St. Andrews course starts in the historic town of St. Andrew and is designed like an old style classic course. Known as the home of golf, this course has been open to the public for 600 years and stands the test of time.

Carnoustie Championship Course features sloping fairways and formidable bunkers. It is sure to provide visitors an enjoyable experience that is difficult as well. This championship course has been the host of the Open Championship at least six times. Originally designed in 1857, the course was revamped in 1926 and hasn’t changed since left.
