Throughout life there are people you come across that are just like Marmite, you either love them or you hate them. I think is true when it comes to comedians some have the ability to make me laugh with just a facial expression. Jack Dee is my favourite for his facial expressions, without opening his mouth he can have me sniggering. Peter Kay is simply wonderful; his sketch about the wedding buffet is just hilarious.
There are others that no matter how much they try I just don’t seem to ‘get’ them, Jason Manford for one… Oh how I’m pleased he is no longer on 8 out of 10 cats.
Then there is a special group of comedians that I feel you need to see live to get the full effect of their shows. I’d love to get my hands on some Eddie Izzard tickets for his shows at The O2 this June. Watching his performance Glorious from the Hammersmith Apollo on TV doesn’t quite have the same feeling as if I was sitting in the audience soaking up the atmosphere too.
