It’s funny how things can change with a phone call. As I sit and write this I should be keeping a watchful eye on Piglet. I should be explaining to Tigger that he’ll have to miss his swimming lesson this week.
Except I’m not.
Thursday we had a few extra sneezes from Piglet. She always sneezes with such dramatic effect that it is easy to remember them. Friday brought even more, however, I dismissed it as a cold. It appears that piglet doesn’t do colds or at least just a cold. An unsettled night was followed by an hour or two of her perking up enough to play. Shortly followed by a slump. Falling asleep on the sofa whilst watching her favourite film, The Greatest Showman.
Yesterday confirmed something which if I’m honest I already knew but had buried my head in the sand over. Piglet isn’t likely to get a preschool placement at our local school starting in January. Actually, I’m not convinced that she’ll get a place for next September either.

As I collected Piglet from the nursery last week her keyworker told me that she owed me an apology. Many different scenarios rushed through my head. Thinking it was probably me who needed to apologise for something that Piglet had done. She confessed that she hadn’t managed to put much of Piglet’s progress photos and activities on Tapestry.
Tapestry is an online framework which the nursery uses to record the children’s early years foundation stage. Noting down activities, milestones and photos from their nursery journey.
Earlier this year we made the decision to send Piglet to a nursery for a couple of mornings a week. This was to allow me to get some work completed uninterrupted. Whilst also enabling Piglet to interact with children of a similar age. The decision whilst a practical one didn’t sit well with my conscious as I felt it was wrong to send her to a nursery if I wasn’t going ‘out’ to work.
