When it comes to sitting down and watching TV/movies this month I feel we’ve been a little out of sync with each other. Only really coming together for family film nights. Each of us either enjoying things separately or at different times to each other. In many ways, it feels much more like ‘real-life’ than life in lockdown despite us still very much being at home.
With April being our first full month in lockdown we have been enjoying more family film nights together. As well as me and What The Dad Said relaxing on an evening and binge watching series. I won’t share everything that we’ve been watching, but let me share with you the highlights from what we’ve been watching in April.
Did you know that the hit TV series Friends is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year? Ready to celebrate? Who isn’t? It doesn’t matter your age, Friends has probably touched your life in one way or another.
In the past few years, the use of on-demand streaming services, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube have gained quite a bit of popularity. This really should not be a surprise, as it offers a new and more flexible way to watch TV.
Whilst browsing through her Netflix homepage back in 2015, Roo discovered the Project Mc2 series. Featuring four super-smart teens band together to use their science skills to save the day. The first season of Project Mc2 was binged watched and she eagerly awaited the next season to continue the STEM crime-fighting fun from the NOV8 team.
The Netflix Original Series Project MC2 has been a huge hit with Roo since she discovered the first series a few years ago. With part six recently making its way onto the Netflix scheduling she has already managed to binge watch the episodes. Before deciding to start back at the beginning and watch all the STEAM girls adventures.
As a parent, I am pretty relaxed on what my children choose to play with. After all, it is them who needs to be entertained by it, interact with it and hopefully have a lifespan of more than five minutes. Don’t get me wrong, I do steer them away from things whilst we are in the toy store – pointing out that they had something similar and they never played with it so what makes this one so special.
