Life in lockdown continues, although I think I can start to see the end of the tunnel. With a little under two weeks until the children potentially return to school. Something that they need as much as I do. I have to confess to really needing the few hours of time alone I get each week whilst completing the chores of popping to the post office, checking on the house etc. I feel selfish and guilty for enjoying that time but it is most welcomed at the same time.

I feel this week has been surrounded by a constant source of noise. I’m sure that the children have found their volume knobs and turned them up to full volume – especially Piglet. A stream of questions, moans and groans alongside banging and clattering. But that’s family life for you and I don’t think I’d have it any other way – although I have to confess to enjoying my few hours on my own in the car as I completed my weekly chores.

Can someone please send a thunderstorm or two over to Norwich? I’m sweltering in the heat, as a northerner, I really don’t fair well when it is hot. As lovely as it is to see the sunshine, I could really do with a dose of rain right about now.

I don’t really know where this week has gone. I feel as though I’ve missed a day or two from this week. With What The Dad Said back at work we have fallen back into our usual routines. Still hard to watch him head out for a shift when we are all at home.

Throughout the lockdown, I had been looking forward to this week. Marking the children’s first full week of the summer holidays. As well as What The Dad Said’s first holiday since the February half term having worked throughout the lockdown. A much-needed chance for us to reconnect and enjoy time together.

Although the children have more or less been at home since mid-March, the school summer holidays are a welcome milestone this week. The learning from home and preschool runs are on hold until September. I’m not sure whether or not they will be back then or not. It’s seven weeks away and a lot can happen in that time.

The school holidays are within touching distance, just two more days to go. Roo finished on Friday, whilst Tigger has two more days of homeschooling still to complete, with Piglet still attending preschool. A very different end to the school year but it will be nice to not have to worry about having to complete school work from home.

I’m struggling this week with what to say, what to do and whether there is any light at the end of the tunnel. Which sounds far more dramatic than it truly is, however, it is how I am feeling.

Time to say goodbye to June and hello to July! Another new month started whilst life continues in lockdown. The restrictions are easing with a load of places and businesses able to reopen from yesterday. We haven’t rushed to the pub, a restaurant or attractions and possibly won’t be for a while yet. However, it is good in some ways to see a little bit of normality returning to the world around us.

As the days. weeks and months of lockdown have passed. It’s been interesting to see the different ways we have adapted our lives and things we have been doing to occupy our time. After looking through social media throughout lockdown I have started to question whether I am missing out on the full lockdown experience.
