Each month I share my #littleloves, a chance to reflect on the things that I have read, watched, heard and made. As well as highlighting what I’ve worn and any other highlights in my life. It’s not about the big things, it’s about all those small little loves that make up everyday life.
October always feels like a turning point for our family adventures and life events. After the come down from the summer and reality if back to school hitting us the last week or two of October signals life ramping back up again for half term and Halloween festivities. Easing us into birthday month and then Christmas.
With us all back into our school/work schedules October’s monthly goals are all going to be centred around the home organisation – mainly around the house in preparation for the birthday and Christmas season.
As quickly as the school summer holidays came, they are once again almost over for another year. With the weather changing every day, we have had days where it has been hot and muggy, days that have been so wet it could have easily flooded. Along with days where the wind was so cold and bitter that I longed for my collection of Joules scarves.
I’m not ready for the summer to be over just yet! The countdown to back to school has begun and whilst I know the kiddies want to see their friends etc. I want to keep them to ourselves so we can enjoy more family adventures together.
Time is such a funny thing, it can feel endless at times, then before you know it that season of your life is over and the days feel as though they have slipped away from you. Today marks ten years since I decided to step into the world of blogging. Creating Boo Roo and Tigger Too, highlighting my nickname alongside my then two children.
The month of two halves (school days and schools out for summer) is finally over. If I’m honest it has been quite an overwhelming month. Finding myself questioning whether I am doing the right things, saying the right things and working as much as I should. Feeling as though my to-do list is growing without me managing to cross much off it.
Family life can be one of two things. You can be riding the wave feeling positive, motivated, and feeling like everyone is happy and thriving. Or you can be stood there feeling like the waves are crashing on you. Overwhelmed, exhausted, and struggling. There often doesn’t seem to be a happy medium, which can be frustrating.
One of the questions I’m often asked or seen asked on parenting forums is how we manage the family laundry. So I thought I’d share with you what we do in our home from laundry baskets to putting clean clothes away.
Today marked the one year anniversary of life in lockdown. What a year it has been and how our lives have changed. Whilst I didn’t partake in the two-minute silence earlier today or stand on my doorstep clapping and banging pots and pans. I have been looking back and reflecting on things. The highs, the lows, the difficulties and everything in between.
