What makes you so special? #LifeLately

Have you ever questioned what it is that makes you so special?  Last year whilst watching a TV series that we’d downloaded there was an episode in which a young mum goes for a job interview.  In that interview, she is asked what makes you so special – she pauses and tries to think of an answer before replying… Nothing.  I’m just a mum.  With that, she gets up and walks away.  At that moment the tears rolled down my face, it really struck a chord with me.  This scene is one that I have replayed in my mind many times since.  None more so than this past week.

Redundancy | Two Years On

Facebook memories have the ability to either bring a smile to your face or stop you in your tracks for a moment.  This morning as we were driving to Chessington World of Adventures on a family day out.  I sat scrolling through my Facebook timeline to pass the time away.  A notification to say I had Facebook memories to look at prompted me to click-through and take a look.

18 Goals For 2018

As the New Year approached I began to see a number of my fellow bloggers sharing their 18 goals for 2018.  A wonderful idea that instead of focusing all their attention and efforts on one key change in their lives.  They were opting to look at the small changes, the manageable things that they are looking to make.  Setting New Year’s resolutions is one of those things that most of think we better do as we welcome the New Year.  However, they are often forgotten by the time February arrives (if not sooner).

#Blogtober17 // YouTube

One of the things that I wanted to work on this year was my YouTube channel.  It has been up and running more or less since I started blogging, however, it has been somewhat neglected.  For a long while, it has showcased our memories from visiting Butlins and our trips to Drayton Manor.

#Blogtober17 // Education

I can still remember receiving a telephone call from the keep in touch team a few weeks after Roo was born.  A call to congratulate me on the birth of my firstborn.  A call to offer me advice on the next steps following my maternity leave.  A call advising me to start thinking about childcare options now in order for things to be in place by the time my maternity leave was over.  With a list of childcare providers popped in the post for me to take a look at.

#Blogtober17 // Car

Throughout my teenage years, I had grand plans to pass my driving test as soon as possible after my seventeenth birthday.  With plans to join the Army Royal Logistics Corp, driving would be an integral part of my role.  Unfortunately, I was unable to afford driving lessons whilst I was studying at college and had to delay my dream of getting behind the wheel.

#Blogtober17 // Babies

How did you decide how many babies you would have? When Mr. Boo and I had the baby talk we agreed on five children. I joked that we would have our very own five-a-side football team. Mr. Boo would be the coach, whilst I clearly would be in washing, cheerleading and transportation duties. When I pictured our future family, I pictured a house full of boys. The noise, the chaos and the smell of socks to go with them.
