We’ve gotta do it, so we have to get on with it, but sorting the family’s dinners week-in, week out, isn’t the easiest job in the world.
Sure, it seems like it. How hard can it be to plan meals for a family of four for the month, but it takes its toll. Being creative and pleasing everyone’s pallets is more difficult than you can ever imagine. Unless, of course, you’re blessed with a wonderful group of children – and a partner – who hoover up everything you put in front of them. Brussels included.
Aside: does such a breed of unfussy folk even exist?
Beyond all of the weekly meal planning woes, these days, there’s even more to worry about. It’s so easy to go to the supermarket and try to cut costs by picking up the cheaper cuts of meat, without a thought for how that meat or poultry was produced, how it got to the shelves, how the animal was reared.
As a society, we have, collectively, become more aware of the conditions creatures live in as part of the farming industry. It’s fair to say that some stories tell the unthinkable. We can try to make wise food choices while shopping, but we don’t ever really know what we’re buying into, what we’re supporting.
So perhaps it’s time to make a change.
It would definitely be a weight off my shoulders if I could serve the family a delicious meat dish, knowing at least that the animal lived in superlative conditions.
Buyacow – healthy, tasty and sustainable
Thankfully, no longer need you to stand in the aisles, scouring over the small print on packets of meat. Buyacow.uk have recently come to the UK, and aim to revolutionise our approach to purchasing beef products throughout the country. Buyacow pledge that they can make it easier to put truly healthy, tasty meat on the table for families while keeping the cost affordable.
Sounds good to me.
Perhaps most importantly, the company simultaneously protects animal welfare, the environment and sustainable food and farming practices. It’s really ticking all of those beefy boxes.
With so many benefits, it seems nonsensical to keep hitting to the supermarkets up for low-quality meat, from farmers who rear their cattle with hormones and preventative antibiotics. A simple switch can ensure premium beef that is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids. It’s a no-brainer, really.
If you do want to give it a try, head over to the buyacow website and purchase a share of a cow. Once all the remaining shares are sold, the cow will then be processed, matured, and delivered straight to your home in a meat-box… just in time for tea.
