These days, Glasgow is a popular destination for many families. If the weather’s nice, sit out on Glasgow Green with a picnic. This public park is studded with some beautiful statues and also overlooks the River Clyde. You can also stroll through the Glasgow Botanical Gardens and see many native species of flowers and plants. You might also spot some exotic species as well! There is also plenty of culture to soak up in Glasgow, from the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum to the Glasgow School of Art.

Blackpool

Maybe your family would prefer a holiday at the seaside? Kids love being by the beach and they will certainly while away the hours building sand castles and going for donkey rides. Once they have had a paddle in the Irish Sea, there is plenty more to do in this fun town! Visit the Blackpool Pleasure Beach and have fun on its many rides and roller coasters. There is now even a Nickelodeon themed area that has many rides based on popular kids TV shows. After the kids have whooshed down some scary roller coasters, take them up the world-famous Blackpool Tower. They will love watching the various performers in the circus there.

The Welsh town of Aberystwyth is located on the gorgeous coast of Cardigan Bay. This is a lively student town, so you can expect to find plenty of discount bars, restaurants, and cafes. Perfect if you are looking for a budget staycation! And it still has some of the features you would expect from a seaside town, including amusement arcades and fish and chip takeaways. The kids will love catching a steam train and riding the Vale of Rheidol Railway. It runs between the town and Devil’s Bridge, passing by some of the coast’s prettiest seascapes.
