Tigger’s Wardrobe | Start-rite Cup Final School Shoes

January 5, 2017

With the first term back at school under our belts, it is almost time to kick-start the New Year with the Spring term (always feels funny calling it that when it’s still winter). If all the festivities and Christmas food have given your child a growth spurt, and you’re suddenly finding that their school schools no longer fit. Then may I suggest taking a look at Start-rite Shoes, with 220 years of experience when it comes to children’s shoes you know that you are in the right hands.

Living just a few miles from their factory does allow us the luxury of visiting their outlet shop right next door. Although the selection on the website and in their stockists’ stores (John Lewis, Brantano etc.) is amazing so you might be spoilt for choice.

Anyway, back to school shoes… Tigger is hard on his school shoes, a typical boy if you will. So when it comes to getting him the right pair that will last until his feet grow is important. Start-rite has come to my rescue and suggested that the Start-rite Cup Final School Shoes might just be the perfect pair for him.

A close up of some shoes

When Tigger was little he had some issues with his legs and subsequently he isn’t the most balanced of children even now. As he started preschool and was required to wear a uniform, we struggled to find school shoes that were flexible enough for him to manoeuvre easily. We tried regular school shoes and he kept tripping over, so a fitter at Start-rite suggested we try a trainer style school shoe. These were perfect and ever since we have always purchased a trainer style rather than a standard leather school shoe.

Shoe

Tigger was sent the Start-rite Cup Final school shoes at the beginning of the school term and they are still going strong no matter what he has gotten up to at school. The hardwearing soles provide enough grip whilst he is running, jumping etc. Whilst the rip tape fastening allows him to be able to easily take them on and off for getting changed for PE etc.

Features

  • Scuff resistant toes (perfect for little boys!)
  • Lightweight and flexible
  • Riptape fastening
  • Features interchangeable straps (Red, Grey and Green)

Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…

Although it was the interchangeable straps that draw Tigger’s attention to the school shoes, he does like wearing these. He does like to alternate the colours each day so his friends can guess what colour he has on. On a serious note, they are comfortable, easy to pop on and off as well as being flexible to withstand whatever he throws at them.

As a parent, the scuff resistant toe is a lifesaver, especially will trips and falls, running and shoving etc. As we approach our second term at school they are still going strong and thankfully his feet haven’t grown!

Price and Availability

The Start-rite Cup Final School Shoes are available from the Start-rite website and local stockists, priced at £47.00. Available in a range of sizes starting at a child’s 9 through to an adult’s 3.5, as well as four different width fittings.
