For many parents the costs of keeping the kids entertained during the summer holidays can be more expensive than Christmas. Between taking them to theme parks, bowling and cinema along with eating out the costs soon adds up. With this in mind vouchercodes.co.uk have challenged Boo Roo and Tigger Too to see how much fun we can have with £80 whilst saving money by using the many different codes available on their website.
Rather than searching for a particular venue or activity I decided to take a look at the days out section to gain some inspiration for a fabulous day out with the kids. Whilst looking through the various theme parks I spotted our family favourite, Drayton Manor. Up until the 31st August you can either print out a voucher or download it to the vouchercodes app (available on both the Apple Store and Google Play) which gives you 2 for 1 entry to the park, saving us £36.00.
With Drayton Manor being a good 3 hour drive away and a full on family fueled day out we decided that we would book into a hotel overnight. We travel quite often as a family and we have never stayed in a bad Premier Inn (touch wood) so whilst looking on the Hotels.com site I opted for the Premier Inn at the NEC. We have previously stayed there and it is just a short journey to and from the park. At just £61 instead of £94 for all four of us to stay overnight it was good value, plus an extra 10% off for using the code from vouchercodes.
The Premier Inn does have a restaurant onsite however with two tired children public dining is not always the best idea so checking back on the site I looked to see if I could get any delivery deals. Pizza Hut have a couple of great offers on so depending on what time you are ordering and how many you are ordering for you can find a deal that best suits you. We opted for the 50% a £15 spend on pizzas before 6pm (we ordered at 5.50pm so just in time).
Overall we saved just over £85.00 which really surprised me, I had no idea just how much you can save just by using a few voucher codes. Needless to say I am now a convert and have signed up to the vouchercodes newsletter so I don’t miss out on any new offers.
