Preserving memories with a Rosemood Photo Book [AD-GIFTED]

March 27, 2019

This is a gifted partnership with Rosemood UK

I’m not sure whether it is a sign of getting older or being a mum but recording and preserving memories are so very important to me. They don’t have to be the perfectly polished days out or grand achievements, as the best memories often come along when you are least expecting them.

Whilst I have fond memories stored in my mind, my memory is not what it once was (I never recovered from baby brain – or at least that is my excuse). It often a photo that can suddenly take you back to the moment it was taken. Preserving how you felt, those around you and the activity that was taking place.

Preserving family memories

Last autumn we were lucky enough to complete a mini-photoshoot with Beth Moseley Photography. Something that I was a little anxious about as we’d previously had a disastrous studio photoshoot when Roo was little and it put us off doing it again. However, I’m so pleased that we stepped outside our comfort zone and headed off into a local nature reserve to capture some family photos of us all.

Beth managed to work her magic and we not only had a wonderful time walking around the nature reserve. We also left with 80 photos of us as a family – something all our photo albums were lacking. As there is always one of us taking the photo so group photos are at a premium.

With Mother’s Day coming up (and Father’s Day not that far behind) it seemed the perfect opportunity to take our beautiful photos and create a place where I can go back and relive that morning whenever I’m feeling a little nostalgic.

Photo books are the perfect way to create a place where memories are preserved. Taking the traditional photo album to the next step you are able to add the photos you desire, in a layout that suits your style, alongside snippets of text to help recall the moment or funny story that coordinates with that photo.

Collating memories

Softcover photo books from Rosemood are a beautiful way to collate memories. Whether you are looking to make something special as a gift for a loved one, or you are just looking to preserve your own memories. Available in three formats: square, portrait and landscape as well as an array of different designs. You are able to customise your photo book to suit your needs, style and taste.

Collating memories from our autumn photoshoot I selected the Elegant style, in a square format and size 20×20. With the option to have between 30 and 200 pages, you are able to make your photo book as big or small as you desire depending on the type you are creating. I would recommend not utilising the Safari browser if you are using a MacBook or similar as I had a few compatibility issues. However, Chrome worked well and I was able to upload and add photos before going through to the main design process.

  • Create your photo book using your own artistic abilities – You would prefer to choose the layout of each page as well as which photos belong on which pages. It’s all up to you!
  • See your automatically filled photo book instantly – The magic autofill tool is here to make your life easier. With the click of a button, your photos will be added to your personalised book in a harmonious fashion. You can then make any changes you see fit!

Whilst I would love to say that I am creative, I am somewhat lacking in skills so the option to have my photos added automatically was really helpful. Being able to then scroll through the pages and make any adjustments as necessary. As well as adding a few quotes here and there to bring the photo book to life.

Given that my children’s nicknames are characters from Winnie The Pooh, you can understand that I have an extra special place in my heart for the stories. So it seemed fitting that the quotes adding throughout my photo book would be from the classic A.A. Milne stories.
