Back when I was pregnant with Tigger I would sit my laptop on one of those lap trays with they bean bag underneath. The trouble was as I got bigger the tray would be pushed further away from me by my expanding belly. In the end I simply placed a cushion on my knees and placed the laptop on top. That’s what I’ve been doing ever since, even now. So when Space2 offered me the opportunity to review their Quadro Oak and White Laptop Stand I gladly accepted.
The laptop stand comes flat packed which may at first put future purchasers off, however they don’t need to. The stand contains 8x screws and dowels… Really!
Putting the laptop stand together
- In each side piece you need to screw in 4x screws and place 4x dowels
- Add the screw nuts into the top and back panels
- Slot the panels into the screws and dowels on each side panel
- Tighten the screw nuts, I would recommend doing this with a manual screwdriver to ensure you have fully tightened
- Then add four felt stickers to the base if the legs to prevent the laptop stand sliding on laminate and tile
Once assembled I carried into the living room, it is light enough to be carried with line hand. Being lightweight makes it versatile enough to be used throughout the house or even in the garden.
The top is big enough to accommodate a 17″ laptop without it overhanging the sides. So would easily accommodate a tablet, netbook or up to 17″ laptop (I would say you could get a 19″ laptop on there but it would be edge to edge with the sides).
The two tone design with white sides/legs with the oak style top and back panel adds that contemporary look to it. Using it in the living room the legs easily slide under the sofa to allow the stand to be closer to me if I’m chilling out on the sofa after a long day.
It’s not just a laptop stand… Roo has decided that whilst our dining room table is out if action due to the bedroom renovations (we have stuff stored everywhere!) she needs to use the stand to do her homework on. As long as she is doing her homework I don’t mind sharing it.
Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
Switching from slouching on the sofa with a cushion to sitting with better posture and using the stand was a little strange at first. However after the first day I noticed less aches and pains from slouching.
Roo thought the stand was great and asked me if they came in different colours so she could have one in her room.
