It’s been a difficult week and I’m struggling to comprehend what the world is coming to. After spending the weekend in Manchester I woke like many others on Tuesday morning to hear the tragic news. with Roo away at her school residential camp this week it has left me feeling quite vulnerable.
Read
I’ve managed to take a little me time this week. Pushing the to-do list to one side and indulging in a couple of chapters from Pride and Prejudice. Although I have read the story many time before it always seems to centre me and bring me comfort – much needed this week.
Watched
In The Night Garden has featured heavily this week. Piglet is a little out of sorts due to teething but In The Night Garden is the one thing that seems to soothe her. I would never have thought that I’d still be watching it after 10 years but it goes to show what a hit it is with young children.
Heard
I’ve been getting out in the garden this week – hasn’t the weather been glorious? Catching up on my washing, weeding the garden and attempting to get it ready for our first family BBQ on Father’s Day (although we don’t actually own a BBQ). Thankfully my new (rather gorgeous) Emma Bridgewater Hepburn Mk II radio has been keeping me company. With a mixture of local radio and my Spotify playlist.
Made
Not quite made but more cemented friendships. A weekend at Blog On has given me the opportunity to reaffirm friendships made with my fellow bloggers. Some of these ladies know more about me than my close family and friends. They are truly the best thing to have come from recording my ramblings online almost six years ago.
Wore
Polka dots and navy stripes are my signature clothing options. With a couple of events and meeting this week it has been a combination of these to get me through. Although I have managed to grab a new harbour top from Joules this week – a girl can never have too many stripes.
Lastly
It’s half term and I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. Although Easter feels like it was just last week I need to reconnect with the children. Let the fun commence!
