Wrapping the Christmas presents – How to make things easier

December 4, 2019

This is a paid partnership with Studio

When it comes to preparing for Christmas one of the things on my priority list is wrapping paper. Whilst almost everyone wraps their presents (unless you are a gift bag kind of person) I like my wrapping to be organised. As well as being organised, I like to dedicate wrapping supplies to each recipient to make my life and the task of wrapping gifts that bit easier.

Paper for each child

Each year I make sure I have enough wrapping paper to wrap all the children’s presents in one Christmas wrapping paper. So Roo will have one design, Tigger another and Piglet will have her very own design too. This saves me having to write out lots of gift tags, enables me to see at a glance whose presents are whose when I’m sorting them out and also makes Christmas morning much easier too.

With Christmas wrapping paper available in a choice of roll sizes from 3m through to 24m, it means that I can simply purchase one large roll or each paper to last throughout the wrapping season.

Alongside this, the children have their very own personalised Santa sack, perfect for sorting gifts that they have received from friends and family.

When it comes to wrapping Mr Boo’s and my Christmas presents (yes I generally wrap my own up too) I use up any paper leftover from the previous year as there is only a handful of presents to wrap up.

Special paper from Santa

Now Santa is a busy man so the one present that comes from him is wrapped in a different design again but the same for each child. Although comes with a special gift tag with a little note on it before I send it back to him to deliver on Christmas Eve *wink wink*.

Gifts for loved ones

My wrapping organisation doesn’t stop there, I also buy another wrapping paper with matching tags for presents that need to be distributed (i.e. leave my house). Each one is wrapped, tagged and then if there is several going to the same family (i.e. SIL’s house etc.) they are then placed in a gift bag so that I can simply grab and deliver it.

Gift wrap organisation

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has had to search high and low in the past for that elusive roll of wrapping paper. Whether it is a last-minute Christmas gift or need to wrap up a birthday gift. This is why a gift wrapper organiser is perfect for storing all the wrapping paper, gift tags, bows, ribbons and sticky tape etc. Something that can be stored in the wardrobe, under the bed or even behind the sofa. Ready to be pulled out whenever needed.

A wrapping tradition

I’m not really sure how this tradition started but as I’ve done it for the past eight or so years I don’t think I could do back to having to write all those gift tags and have the headache of sorting them all out on Christmas morning.

Do you have a wrapping up system at Christmas?
