Yesterday I dropped Roo off in town with Magic Nanny and her cousin as they were off on a girlie day out before Christmas. I too was having a little day out of my own, although depending on your thoughts regarding getting all the the little bits and pieces needed for Christmas is whether you envy or sympathise with me.
Armed with a list of things I needed to get as this would be my last chance to do any shopping with no children. Having stocked up on large envelopes to finally get around to posting some Christmas cards (I’m shockingly late writing them out this year), I headed to Poundland.
I’d recently been set a new Christmas challenge as part of my Poundland Ambassador role and I have to say it couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m quite lucky in Great Yarmouth as we have two branches of Poundland to chose from, although as I was in the town centre I opted for the Market Place store (it’s huge as it took over the old Woolworth’s site).
Anyway, back to my shopping list…
Hopefully by next weekend I will be able to see my dining room table (currently my wrapping station, so filled with presents, wrapping paper and gift tags). As this is our first Christmas at home as a family I want to try and make it all about the children, so I’ve opted to get some funky melamine tableware.
The plates, bowls and tumblers come in packs of 3 which make them great value (plus I can wash them in the dishwasher). Along with an assortment of serving bowls, platters and trays I decided to grab some disposable napkins and I’m hoping to sit Roo in front of YouTube so she can fold them in to some swans or should that be turkeys?
Decorating our home at Christmas is something that is always done of the 1st of December and this year was no exception, however with the trimmings going up so early I am always tempted to add to the decorations through the build up to the big day. I managed to sneak a few more Christmas tree decorations in my baskets alongside some paper chains (who doesn’t love making paper chains?).
Whilst I thought I was pretty organised by getting all the main Christmas presents early when I came to wrap them up for Santa I realised that I didn’t really have anything for Roo’s stocking (oops!). So I added a few Furby goodies to my basket along with a couple of Cadburys and Nestle selection boxes which are currently on a 3 for £2.00 offer (bargain).
All in all I think my £20 voucher when quite far, along with the items I bought last year I think (touch wood) I am just about organised.
