My little Piglet is now seven months old. I’m not sure how long I can get away with calling her little but as she won’t be catching up to Roo or Tigger anytime soon, I think I can get away with it for a little while longer.
I’d anticipated writing about our weaning journey this month, however, we haven’t really started. We’ve made preparations with a highchair and spoons etc but she doesn’t seem that interested in having any food. I’ve tried her on some baby rice, yoghurt and rusks but she was sick each time after a few hours so must have upset her tummy. I’m wondering whether we are going to miss the whole puree stage and head straight for finger foods as the only thing she’ll munch on is a Wotsits or two (can’t say I blame her, they are my favourites too). Milk-wise she is still content on her usual five bottles of 6oz and her feed pattern so I don’t think she is hungry etc. so might just not be ready for it all.
This past month she has discovered that she can turn and spin around on her tummy to change direction when rolling around on the floor. She has worked out that if she pulls her playmat, blanket or muslin cloth it will bring toys that on top of them close enough to grab.
Hair, glasses and generally anything is no longer safe. Anything she can get her hands on she will have She’s so inquisitive ad you can see her trying to work things and most likely how she can get her hands on it.
I can tell already that she is my wild one. I’ll call her name and she looks at me all innocent even when she is pulling on the curtains again as if to say ‘you called?‘. She’s got such a cute smile though and has us wrapped around her little finger and knows it.
