With Roo and Tigger home for the school holidays, the past month has been a blur of days out, activities and meet-ups with friends. As a family we thrive off a routine, knowing what is happening, at what time and on what days. Our routine has been thrown out of the window and although Piglet has been keeping to her feed times her napping has been somewhat haphazard. Although it is lovely to see that she is taking after me in her ability to sleep anywhere. As I found her cuddled up on the living room floor when I came back from going to the toilet.
With Roo and Tigger, they both crawled quite late, around a year old or so with walking happening at 16 and 20 months. So you can imagine my naivety in thinking that Piglet would follow suit. No, not Piglet. She has been commando crawling for around eight weeks and is getting much quicker at it, especially if there is something she sees that she wants. Not content on commando crawling she is attempting to pull herself up on various things, trouser legs seem to be her favourite, however, not great when you are wearing PJ’s and they nearly get pulled down.
Weaning is coming along slowly but surely. We’ve gotten into a little routine of offering food at certain times of the day and I need to start looking at cutting back on her bottle feeds in the hope she will increase the amount of food she is taking. Baby led weaning seems to be working out best for her as she is so independent, however, I’m too much of a control freak to let her loose with yoghurts and her porridge just yet.
Like any baby, she has a collection of toys to play with and it is interesting to see that she goes back to her Teletubbies board books time and time again. I wonder whether she will take after her sister and be a bookworm.
