Have you ever wondered what it is like being a child when you are walking through the streets, in a supermarket or on a family day out. Whether they are walking a long beside you or sitting in the pushchair their view of life can be so much different to yours. Every now and again you might bend down and try to show them something but you only manage to see a glimpse into their world.
The Persil Kids Today Project provides a fresh, new perspective on why hands-on experiences are crucial in equipping children with skills for success. By seeing, hearing, touching and exploring the world around them and experiencing challenge and adventure, children become adults that are adaptable, collaborative, able to communicate easily, emotionally strong, problem solvers and able to exert social influence.
BAFTA award-winning Direct Rupert Edwards recently shot six films for the Persil Kids Today project that show the world from a child’s perspective – incorporating a unique approach to filming directly through a child’s eyes. The Eye View camera was created specifically for the project.
To see the technology in action and to get an idea of how Roo and Tigger see life Persil sent over one of the Eye View cameras and tickets for our local zoo. Unfortunately despite charging the battery on the camera we were unable to get it to work so instead we headed off armed with Roo’s digital camera so that she could take snapshots of the day so we could see the visit through her eyes.
Disclosure: We received entry to a local zoo FOC in order to share life through a child’s eyes with you.
