As a mum of three (still feels strange saying three instead of two) I want to do the best for each of my children. From giving them the love and care at home as well as giving them the social skills to make their way through life (and boy do Roo and Tigger know how to chat to virtually anyone). Whilst I am trying to be the best parent I can to them all they are in turn teaching me new skills and helping to bring out the best in me too. Whilst I might not fancy waking up throughout the night to a crying baby or hearing that ‘mum I’ve just been sick’ call from the older two I know that these days will not last forever and I need to count my blessings that I am able to soothe them and be there when they need me.
Today, our friends at Pampers released a short film which showcases just how babies bring out the best in us all, highlighting that there’s nothing we wouldn’t do to make life #BetterForBaby – if you haven’t seen it, you can watch it here:

My #BetterForBaby pledge
I’m sure we could all think of a worthy cause that could help change the lives of babies within our local area. For me I’d love to help our sling library, run by a local mum and volunteers all their slings have been donated by fellow parents and through the generosity of local business. The sling library is only small but offers local parents the opportunity to try out different slings to see which one works best for them, they can then loan the sling for a period of time to see how they get on with it during everyday life before the decide whether or not to go out and purchase their own sling.
I’d use the £1000 bursary to help promote the good work of the sling library, to encourage more parents to come along and see what the sling library can offer them (it’s not just about slings, it’s about coming together as parents and supporting each other). I’d also like to purchase some new slings for the parents to be able to try out and loan, with the possibility of contacting some of the sling manufacturers to see if we could arrange for one of their reps to come and visit the sling library and showcase just what their slings can do for both baby and parents.
