Monthly Goals March 2022

Monthly Goals | March 2022

February 28, 2022

Each month I highlight my monthly goals, partly to make myself accountable for the plans, tasks and goals that I include. But also in the hope that it inspires you to make a little list of monthly goals that you’d like to achieve for the month ahead. Helping you realise that you achieve more than you possibly give yourself credit for.

Each week of this month feels as though it has brought its own challenges. From overcoming the month of January, checking off my recovery, half-term and the juggle of returning to my day job. I’ve honestly felt like I’m bouncing from one thing to another, but here we are at the end of the shortest month of the year. Time to reflect on the monthly goals I set for February and nite down those that I am looking to focus on during March.

How did I get on with last month’s goals?

As I approached February’s monthly goals I had it in my mind that days were limited as well as the combination of everyday life reducing my available time. Whilst I crave plans and organisation there is a part of me that works better when I know a deadline is looming and time getting away from me.

So let’s see how I got on with my February monthly goals?

Home: The Cupboard Doom

With an empty IKEA Kallax unit sitting in our hallway waiting for me to sort out the cupboard of doom, you’d think that this would spur me into action – nope! In fact, I saw one of my friends share on social media that they were tackling their own cupboard of doom, Seeing the chaos from it all put me off even taking a peek inside out under the stairs cupboard. So the Kallac remains in the hallway taunting me every time I walk past it. I need to get the cupboard of doom sorted, I will get it sorted… just not today.

Family: Half-Term Family Adventures

The first half-term of the year is the kickstart to our family adventures,. I’d spent time planning days out, booking tickets, hotels and thoughts on where we could eat etc. Then Storm Eunice decided on a trip to the UK (shakes fist!). Luckily only the latter part of our week was affected by the severe weather warning.

I did manage to enjoy a girl’s day out in London with Piglet to see the LOL Suprise VIP Party at The O2, which she loved. Cinema trip for the older two children to see Uncharted and even a date night for me and What The Dad Said. Squeezing in a trip to Brick Week at Legoland Windsor, enjoying the rides and brick building action.

Luckily I have managed to rearrange our other family adventures for the beginning of the Easter Holidays.

Work: Resizing images

One of those blog admin tasks that has been sitting on my to-do list for a while. After I moved hosts late last year I was able to see more background details on my sites and just how much server space I was utilising. Using Shortpixel I was able to save over 20GB of space on this blog alone! I’m hoping that this will also my site load quicker and smoother – certainly something I need to schedule to run each month to keep on top of things.

Monthly Goals - March

My plans and monthly goals for March

With the lighter mornings are finally here it doesn’t feel quite as much like a chore to get up each morning (although I’d always like more sleep). The brighter days ahead are giving me a spring cleaning vibe to my monthly goals. Hoping to refresh areas in my life, clear the clutter and prepare for the days/weeks ahead of 2022.

Home: Lounge refresh

Our lounge is still very much a blank canvas, albeit filled with furniture, It doesn’t really have a defined style or personality. With the same funky terracotta/floral curtain and voiles that were here when we moved in and untouched magnolia walls, I’ve spotted a beautiful grey geometric wallpaper design from PhotoWall that I’d love to add as a feature wall. I’ve been making a little Amazon wishlist for all the accessories, cushions, curtains and prints that have caught my eye.

Family: Exploring new places

There is something comforting about revisiting a place you have been before. Knowing what to expect, what the facilities are like and where to eat etc. Stepping outside of these can be a little daunting, however, during March I’d love for us to visit somewhere new and open our eyes to explore an attraction, an area or a possibly an activity together as a family.

Blog: Clearing the drafts

Every now and again I have a purge of the posts and articles I have sitting in my draft folder. Something I haven’t done for a while and is long overdue. Deciding whether to finish the draft, save it for the future or delete it and move on. Working part-time alongside my blogs means that I need to be as organised as possible and re-address the clutter of half-completed projects sitting staring at me whenever I log in.
