Each month I highlight my monthly goals, partly to make myself accountable for the plans, tasks and goals that I include. But also in the hope that it inspires you to make a little list of monthly goals that you’d like to achieve for the month ahead. Helping you realise that you achieve more than you possibly give yourself credit for.
It feels like only five minutes ago that we were welcoming Spring, yet the heatwave we’ve enjoyed this month has made it feel like Summer has popped in for a catch-up. whilst I’m not one for the hot weather the sunshine and clear skies are a welcome addition to the day.

How did I get on with my monthly goals from May?
I don’t believe that family life is ever boring or slow, yet there is something to be said about being grateful for the busyness in our lives. May has been very much a juggling act and finding new ways to manage our life load, but there have been happy memories made and the warmth of love felt.
Family: Exploring East Anglia
As a tourist who stayed, I am aware of the wealth of attractions and places to visit within East Anglia. This month we have been fortunate to explore two new attractions that we hadn’t had the pleasure of doing before. Audley End Miniature Railway and the Norfolk Tulips.
Home: Home Library
From the corner of the sofa where I sit on an evening to enjoy my Kindle, I have a good vantage point of the books I have placed with the IKEA Billy Bookcase. It’s lovely to see my Wordsworth Collector’s Editions lined up looking colourful with my much loved Winnie The Pooh books.
Work: Full-time hours
Increasing my usual part-time hours to full-time for a little while to cover sick leave and the additional needs of the service. On the whole hasn’t been too bad, being able to work from home four days out of five has meant it hasn’t been a huge transition. Well, other than the work I’m actually completing at my desk. My blog work is pushed to evenings and weekends whilst I focus on my day job.
My plans and monthly goals for June
The last full month before the summer holidays and as ever it is a full calendar. Father’s Day celebrations to be planned and enjoyed, days with the children, encouraging revision as well as everything else that goes into family life. Sadly our planned holiday to Scotland has been cancelled as we were unable to justify the cost within our current budget.
Family: Father’s Day
Father’s Day is a somewhat bittersweet day for me personally. Sadly, there are very few fond memories of my own father to recall on a day when we are expected to rejoice and be thankful for our fathers/ However, I count my lucky stars that my own children are fortunate enough to have What The Dad Said doting on them. Someone who will forever be in their corner, offering help, support, cuddles or tickles whenever needed. So it is only right that we celebrate him and express our gratitude, which we will be doing with a trip to Cromer.
Home: Summer Wardrobes
The change in the weather and wardrobe staples makes it a fantastic time to go through the children’s wardrobes and donate clothes that they have outgrown. As well as make a list of replacement items needed.
Work: One Day At A Time
Juggling multiple blogs can feel as though I’m not achieving anything despite having spent a few hours in front of my MacBook. My main monthly goal this coming month is to spend some dedicated time on each blog, one day at a time, rather than hopping between sites.
