Monthly Goals July 2022

Monthly Goals | July 2022

June 30, 2022

Each month I highlight my monthly goals, partly to make myself accountable for the plans, tasks and goals that I include. But also in the hope that it inspires you to make a little list of monthly goals that you’d like to achieve for the month ahead. Helping you realise that you achieve more than you possibly give yourself credit for.

How is it that we are already halfway through the year? It doesn’t feel too long ago that we were packing away the Christmas decorations and planning what the year ahead could possibly hold for us. As I prepare to turn the calendar over for July, I have to admit to a small panic about what we haven’t achieved this year and how we are going to cram it all into the second part of the year. Naturally, this panic is not needed and irrational but that’s how my high-functioning anxiety brain works.

How did I get on with my monthly goals from June?

This month we have fully embraced the living for the weekend philosophy. Making plans to blow off the school and work week to be together, kick back and have fun. For the most part, I haven’t really thought too much about the monthly goals that I’d set myself for the month. Let’s take a look at how I got on.

Family: Father’s Day

Whilst I’d like to hope that What The Dad Said knows how much we love and appreciate him across the year, it is lovely to have a special day to highlight it. This year he was naturally treated to more LEGO, funny cards and treats from the Father’s Day gift shop at the primary school. Alongside this, we ventured into London to watch Back To The Future: The Musical. Although he’s not usually a fan of the theatre or musicals he loves the Back To The Future films and loved the show, as did the rest of us.

Home: Summer Wardrobes

This has been a split way of dealing with this task. Tigger’s wardrobe and how he has been putting his clothes away forced my hand as I attempted to gather clothes for our trip to Crealy Theme Park & Resort earlier in the month. Finding his wire baskets in his wardrobe stuffed tight that when you attempted to open one, all of them pulled open. Resulting in me having to go through them to pull out all of his outgrown items etc.

Piglet on the other hand has next to nothing for summer, cue a shopping trip to Primark for some everyday t-shirts and a couple of pairs of short dungarees. Seeing her colourful personality shine through in the clothes she chose. So different from her siblings.

Work: One Day At A Time

Returning to work full-time in many ways has been a blessing for me. Financially speaking it’s been great to know that we have that money hitting our bank account at the end of the month. Work-wise it‘s lovely to get my teeth into my role as well as the reassurance that when I switch off for the day I’m not still getting notifications etc. like I do from my blogs. Readjusting to juggling life with everything hasn’t been easy but it has been wonderful to have that protected time at the weekends as a family instead of them passing by without us really doing anything.

My plans and monthly goals for July

The countdown to the summer starts now! A busy month with the end of the school year looming. Roo preparing to enter her final year of high school, Tigger leaving primary school and Piglet finding her way as the only sibling left in primary school. Thinking ahead to monthly goals and immediately I’m thinking that they will all be around planning and preparing for the school holidays.

Family: Schools Out For Summer!

In the blink of an eye, another school year is almost over. Possibly for the first full school year since before the pandemic started?? Just like December, July is always filled with school events and activities so attempting to fit these in will be a juggling act.

Home: Garden Games

Although the garden looks relatively tidy when you first glance at it, that is simply because we have all the garden games and Nerf guns etc hidden away in Keter Garden Storage Units. However, if you open these to find anything they are a bit like the garden equivalent of an understairs cupboard. Hoping to get these sorted out with storage boxes so that the kids can pull bits out easily over the summer.

Work/Blog: Content Planning

Over the school holidays, I always like to step back as much as I can from my blogs. Being present ‘in the moment’ with the children rather than worrying about deadlines etc. I need to take a look at my schedule and plan in advance for any content that I want to publish/share.
