I’ve spent most of the past week reflecting on the past year. The things that have gone right, the things that have gone wrong and the things that I wish had never happened. Of course, reflecting on things is all well and good but it is the lessons that we take from looking back on things that matter.
As the New Year is about to ring out loud and resolutions are made, I’m looking to make changes in my life. But not ones that fall under the resolution category of losing weight and getting fit – although I could benefit from both of those. This New Year I am looking to make time for me and to ensure that I am accountable for this I am once again jotting down my plans and goals for the month ahead.
My plans and goals for January
Reading
After gifting myself a Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas I am hoping to rediscover my love of reading. With the aim being that my Kindle will make it easier to pick up and continue from where I left off with a book. The ultimate aim of reading 20 books in 2020 – something which I hope will be achievable.
Me and Mine
There is a long-running and much-loved monthly blogging series called ‘Me and Mine’. Which bloggers showcase at least one family photo that was taken that month. As a family, we often have photos of the children, one of us with the children or selfie’s of me and What The Dad Said. However, it is often difficult to get a snapshot of us all together. This coming year I am hoping to change that and become braver and bolder by asking others to take photos of us all together. In the hope that it will make for a wonderful way to see how much our family changes across the year.
reOrganisation
That Spring cleaning feeling that sets in as the Christmas decorations are prepared to be stored away for another year. Whilst I’d like to think that my home isn’t cluttered, more the lived-in look. It would benefit from a little reorganisation. With the garage on the top of What The Dad Said’s list as he added all the decoration tubs back in there. However, it is the children’s bedrooms I have my eye on, especially when it comes to all the little niknaks and soft toys. Time to go through them all and get ready to do car boot sales once the weather is warmer.
