Over the summer Roo was kindly given a bag of clothes from my best friends daughter who had outgrown them. Roo always looks forward to a bag of new clothes throughout the year and insists on giving me a fashion show of the latest additions to her wardrobe. Within the bag was a pair of short dungarees which she fell in love with at first sight. They have been worn over the summer and through the autumn with a pair of thick tights.
Knowing how much she adores the short dungarees I didn’t hesitate in choosing the denim pinafore dress from Milk & Biscuits when they kindly offered to send Roo something to review ahead of their Christmas Pop Up in Hackney next week.
Milk & Biscuits – Denim Pinafore Dress
Ordering the black denim pinafore dress I was a little surprised to find that it is actually more of a charcoal grey than black. However, I think that this works to its favour as the colour will work with almost any of the tops within Roo’s wardrobe. I don’t have to worry about her complaining that the black top she wants to wear is the wrong shade of black to match the dress etc.
The classic style denim pinafore dress is on trend at the moment. The Milk & Biscuits denim pinafore dress has a large pocket on the chest, side zip fastening making it great for younger girls to dress. Then the classic crossover adjustable straps to the shoulders, it is great to see that they have sewn these together to help children get the right strap for each side and reduces the risk of twists. Complete with a small slit up the back to allow for all the movement and adventures the pinafore dress is going to see.
The pinafore dress is a classic look and makes me remember the days when Roo would wear pinafores as a little girl and also for school (how my firstborn has grown).
The denim pinafore dress is available to buy from Milk & Biscuits, in a range of sizes from age 2-3y up to 9-10y.
Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
Roo adores this denim pinafore dress, especially it’s versatility. She is able to pop it on with a pair of thick tights, her Deichmann long leg boots and a coloured top or jumper of her choice. As the spring weather approaches she will be able to wear a t-shirt underneath instead.
It washes really well and keeps its shape, it does advise on the site that the colour might run in the first few washes but I haven’t experienced this. It’s a great all round pinafore dress that can be worn for messing around the house, going out with friends or on trips out as a family.
