Tigger has the rough end of the deal when it comes to bedrooms within our house. Being the youngest means you end up with the box room, not only that but you can only access it by going through Roo’s bedroom. Whilst his room maybe small it is not our main concern, he has three external walls which means that his room can get a little chilly in there. We’ve tried to compensate this by having a larger radiator that you would normally need in a small space – however this isn’t exactly energy savvy and costs us more than we need to spend on heating.
Making some simple changes to his room could really make a difference to both our energy bills and the way his room looks and feels. By adding new storage along one wall it will not only (hopefully) help with keeping all his toys and clothes where they should be but will keep the coldness of the walls away from him to lend on when he plays. Adding a cosy rug, new comfy bedding and some scatter cushions will instantly make the room feel warmer however adding an energy saving blind to the window will really help. Duette® blinds for example help keep his room cool in summer but warm in the winter and can help reduce heat loss by 46%.
