There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy some great sights and attractions when you spend some time in Pennsylvania and whether you are looking for scenic wonders or thrills and spills, the state has got it covered.

Here some of the locations you’ll want to consider for your trip to Pennsylvania.

Feast your eyes on this great gorge

Pine Creek Gorge is a unique attraction and when you gain a suitable vantage point to enjoy uninterrupted natural views that stretch for miles you will quickly appreciate why the gorge is often referred to as Pennsylvania’s equivalent of the Grand Canyon.

Head for Cummings Township and you will see signs for the park, where the scenic adventure can begin.

Another excellent viewpoint

If you enjoy awesome views from a great height the next place to put on your agenda would be Mount Washington.

Panoramic views are assured when you make your way to the summit and a good way of doing that would be to take the charming cog railway that transports to a place where you can truly appreciate the Pittsburgh scenery.

Go hiking and enjoy a renowned natural landmark

You can’t really go to Pennsylvania without taking a hike through Boulder Field.

Aptly named, Boulder Field is known as a national natural landmark and you can explore more than 40 miles of this unique landscape that is situated in White Haven.

Spend some time in the state capital

Harrisburg is the state capital of Pennsylvania and it is well worth spending a few days finding out what the city has to offer.

If you stay at somewhere like the Courtyard Harrisburg Hershey you will be at the heart of the action and some of the attractions to consider visiting while in this part of Pennsylvania include the popular Hersheypark theme park and the National Civil War Museum.

Perfect for a spot of stargazing

There are plenty of astronomy enthusiasts who consider Cherry Springs State Park as one of the best places to stargaze in the east.

Potter County is the venue for this 82-acre park that is considered by many to be perfect for stargazing.

A truly historical location

One of the most dramatic and decisive battles ever held on American soil took place near Baltimore Park and the Gettysburg Battlefield is an iconic and moving place to visit.

When you survey Pickett’s Charge and appreciate what took place here in the past it is hard not feel the hand of history on your shoulder.

Last but not least on your list should be Penn’s Cave.

There are organized tours that take you to and through this awesome cave, which the kids will love, especially if you do the wildlife tour or Prospector Pete’s Miners Maze.
