Jack Dee, Road Trips & Jumpsuits #LittleLoves

I honestly feel as though I have spent the entire month chasing my tail. The days and weeks gave all merged together and I’ve spent my time fighting fires rather than making progress. This being said it has been a fabulous month with attending BlogOn and getting to see the friends in my computer in real life. Catching up with my best friend for another belly-laughing comedy night at the theatre. As well as family time during half term.

This month’s #LittleLoves…

Each month I share my #littleloves, a chance to reflect on the things that I have read, watched, heard and heard. As well as highlighting what I’ve worn and any other highlights in my life. It’s not about the big things, it’s about all those small little loves that make up everyday life.

After indulging in many book series’ last month, I set myself the promise of working through some of my NetGalley ARC books. Having fallen off the wagon with these I really wanted to get this as up to date as possible. Thankfully I have managed this and it has been refreshing to read standalone books rather than committing to an interconnected series – although I have gone through a number of tissues.

Watched

As my September’s #LittleLoves update was early due to the way the dates fell, I didn’t get a chance to mention the last-minute tickets I got to see Jack Dee at Norwich Theatre Royal. He has been on my must-see bucket list for years and he did not disappoint!

Heard

Life after lockdown has enabled road trips to recommence, although the fuel crisis nearly blocked the path to freedom. Nevertheless, I have enjoyed some fun times this month on road trips. Putting the world to rights with Lyndsey from Me, Him, The Dog and a Baby as we headed to and from Blog On. My office commute allowing me free rein over what music I listen to and how loud I want it. Finishing off the month with family adventures to various attractions to make the most of the half-term holidays.

Wore

Two days before lockdown started I had my haircut short, not even consciously thinking about the fact that we might be shut away from the world for an extended period of time. As it turns out it was somewhat a happy coincidence and despite the world opening its doors several times since then I still had never managed to get back to the hairdressers. A last-minute dash to get my hair cut into a shoulder-length bob before BlogOn was very much needed and my hair feels so much better (and manageable) ever since.

Late to the jumpsuit party but I have enjoyed the comfort in wearing my beautiful polka dot jumpsuit from Joules. As well as a bargain jumpsuit I found in the New Look sale with Roo for just £6! I’m not going to deny that you need to leave yourself additional jumpsuit jiggle time when you need to use the look – but worth it for the ease of wearing. I did also treat myself to a pair of white trainers from Studio, however, with the weather turning I fear that these will be hidden away until the spring.

Made

Lists. lists and more lists – Between the children’s November birthdays and Christmas Amazon wish lists, I have been listing gifts I need to buy, cards I need to write. All alongside lists for my Christmas Gift Guides that go live at the beginning of November – worrying that I have missed something off. Add into the mix that we have moved offices for my NHS day job too so I think lists are the only thing keeping me sane at the moment.

Lastly

I’m completely shattered from all the juggling of fun, day job and blog work throughout the half-term holidays. But it has been so wonderful to get out and about with the children, making the most of our Merlin Annual Passes.
