Each month I share my #littleloves, a chance to reflect on the things that I have read, watched, heard and made. As well as highlighting what I’ve worn and any other highlights in my life. It’s not about the big things, it’s about all those small little loves that make up everyday life.
The devil works work for idle hands to do, or so the saying goes. Life is certainly not idle at the moment so I have no fear of the devil making work for me.
Although I have to confess that I do in many ways like the rushed pace of life, no time to be tired or bored. Instead, I’m tackling my blogs, getting stuck in with my day job and finding the balance between family life and getting chores completed. Thinking of the #littleloves and the benefit each task is doing for my family helps keep me focused on the long hours, the neverending laundry pile or being able to afford the day to day essentials.
This month’s #LittleLoves…
Read
Having cancelled my Kindle Unlimited subscription last month in a bid to save some money each month I have been looking through the books I have not yet read on my Kindle account. Enjoying the Chicago Bratva Series from Renee Rose. As well as crossing off some of the books on my NetGalley and BookSprout ARC lists.
In many ways having the temptation to download a book at the touch of a screen taken away has allowed me to focus on other books – there is a lot to be said about being grateful for what you already own.
Watched
Whilst rewatching Sanditon (again) on Amazon Prime whilst I was typing up some work I was shocked to discover that I have been living under a rock. As the series finished on a rather disappointing note as it always does, I discovered that there has been a second season released on BritBox! Not only that but they have filmed the third season at the same time that they film Sanditon Season Two, but it won’t be released until 2023! Needless to say, I binge-watched the second season that night, crying within moments of the first episode.
Family film nights are a regular occurrence in our house, however, the majority of them are minus Piglet. What The Dad Said had a conversation with her about
Heard
Eurovision! I suppose technically this should be under the watched section but Eurovision is a sight to be seen and heard. Graham Norton’s commentary was simply outstanding as usual. Do I feel that we were robbed of first place due to the public voters wishing for a ray of sunshine for Ukraine… Yes, I do, but I can completely understand the reasons for why people voted the way they did.
Wore
Desperately needing to update my summer wardrobe I purchased some new t-shirts from Shein. Roo has ordered a few things from them and I managed to find some cute summer tops within my price point and I’m really quite surprised by the quality.
Made
Having enjoyed a special one-on-one day with Piglet last month I have decided to set aside one day a month for each of the children. An opportunity to do something that they want and a chance to see their personality away from their siblings. May sees Tigger having a day with me, although we are actually going out on June 1st. Nevertheless, he has opted for a trip to the circus, sausage and chips from Harry Ramsdens and possibly some brownies from Morrisons too. So I have been making plans, and booking tickets (which is why we are doing June 1st). As well as thinking about additional surprises/treats I can arrange for him.
Lastly
Between work patterns, SATs, mock exam revision and family life we have managed to get out as a family and enjoy a few family adventures. Visiting the Fairy & Elf Walk at Audley End Miniature Railway as well as marvelling at the Norfolk Tulips.
