Each month I share my #littleloves, a chance to reflect on the things that I have read, watched, heard and made. As well as highlighting what I’ve worn and any other highlights in my life. It’s not about the big things, it’s about all those small little loves that make up everyday life.
This month’s #LittleLoves… The final days of January are finally here. January always feels like the longest month of the year. I’m never sure if it is due to the colder weather taking hold, the loss of the Christmas decorations of those extra days between paydays after the expense of the month before. Blue Monday has been and gone, the house is looking less like a toy store and I’m just about remembering to write 2022 on letters and forms.
But let’s not start the New Year with too much doom and gloom when there is always #LittleLoves to be found across the month.
Time for January’s #LittleLoves…

Over the Christmas break, I pondered to myself about the love of books. My bookstagram Instagram account took a backseat somewhat in the latter part of last year. With the hope for the New Year to get back to sharing my reads, literary quotes and all things bookish.
A sale on domain names had me pondering about the prospect for a dedicated book blog and I made the decision to rename my What I’m Kindle Reading account to Totally Booked UK to reflect that whilst I do love my Kindle Paperwhite I share more than just Kindle content. As well as setting up an accompanying book blog with the same name. Moving my book-related content from here across to Totally Booked. A lot of work behind the scenes but quite therapeutic at the same time.
Alongside revamping my bookstagram account, setting up another blog, I have been throwing myself into my ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) list. With so many new releases coming to a bookshelf near you I have been enjoying new books from authors I love as well as a couple of new ones – which makes me want to read their entire back catalogue.
Watched
Having made the most of family film nights over the Christmas period we have continued that this month. Whilst we have not all come together every time to watch something, at least a couple of us have gathered on the sofa to watch something together.
- Roo: Twilight Saga
- Tigger: The Eternals on Disney+
- Piglet: The Croods 2 on Sky Cinema
Late evenings though are when What The Dad Said and I get to sit down and watch something. Working our way through Young Seldon and rewatching Peter Kay’s Car Share.
Heard
Silence is golden!
I feel a sense of guilt washing over me for confessing that but after the festivities, Christmas songs playing on repeat and chit chat from the children it has been lovely to have a couple of hours to myself in a quiet house. Simply pottering around doing the washing or whatever but enjoying the silence until schools out and the family chaos kicks back in.
Wore
Comfortable clothing is always my go-to option, especially after too many years of wearing impractical and uncomfortable outfits has made me realise that comfort is king. Thanking my lucky stars for the loungewear I received for Christmas and beautiful Joules harbour tops – you can never have too many stripes in your wardrobe.
Made
I’m still recuperating so haven’t really been up to much this month. taking things slowly around the house in order to build up my stamina.
Lastly
We’ve booked our first holiday of the year to Scotland! It was actually a trip we should have taken back in July 2020, however, with the pandemic hitting everything was postponed and cancelled. But this year we are determined to make it across the border and enjoy a breakaway at Rosneath Castle Park. It will be quite a drive from Norfolk, but we are hoping to make the most of the journey each way and visit a few places along the way.
