We’re a week into the new life in lockdown roadmap out of lockdown, with Roo returning to high school – How different the house feels with all the children out at school during the day. It’s been a little bit of an adjustment for Roo first thing in the morning to ensure she has everything ready in time to make it to her school bus.
Life In Lockdown
High school lateral flow testing
Something that was planned to happen after the school Christmas break was for high schools to test all pupils twice a week. Three months later than planned and with another lockdown under our belts it is now time for testing. This first week the high school have had a team on hand to complete the lateral flow testing with the children. Something that I know Roo was concerned about, but her teachers and friends have offered their support to her. From next week she will be required to complete the lateral flow tests twice a week from home and submit her results online.
Mother’s Day
This time last year Mother’s Day was the first main occasion/celebration that we all felt the effects of life in lockdown. A year later and there is the hope that this will be the last celebration we are locked away. A quiet day all around which was lovely considering how hectic work/life is at the moment. Treated to several pairs of new pyjamas, which is always appreciated. Plus a takeaway tea gathering us all together, counting my blessings and being grateful for the little family unit I have.
