Life In Lockdown… Up until lunchtime today I thought that I had another two days to finish off the back to school preparations. However, a discussion with a friend (and TA at the children’s school) revealed that Tigger is due to start back tomorrow! Thankfully I’d already planned to pop out this afternoon for school shoes, otherwise, he would be wearing trainers tomorrow. So I’ve spent the rest of the afternoon ironing and labelling the uniform. I’m not too sure he’s happy about heading back when his sisters are at home until Wednesday.
Life In Lockdown {Week 25}
Last-minute summer fun
The last week of the summer holidays is the week that we attempt to squeeze in some last-minute summer fun. This year managing to use our Merlin Annual Passes for a family trip to Alton Towers and Warwick Castle. Lovely to have a small slice of normality and for the children to have some more fun before readjusting to school life. Each of the children enjoyed the rides as well as a little history lesson whilst exploring Warwick Castle.
Home gym
What The Dad Said has held and attended a local gym for a few years. The lockdown has left him unable to go so we had been looking at ways for him to exercise at home. A clear out of the garage this week has enabled us to have space to add a cross-trainer. With the hope to add weights and an exercise bike in the future. I’m hoping that it will inspire me to start my own fitness journey.
Not ready to share
The combination of the end of the summer holidays and What The Dad Said returning to work next week has left me sad about the prospect of sharing my little family with the real world once again. As the lockdown started I was daunted by the prospect of educating and entertaining the children. Now as it is being to come to an end, I’m daunted by the prospect of being at home on my own and not having them here with me.
Twenty years
This week What The Dad Said and I celebrated twenty years together, alongside our sixteenth wedding anniversary. It is a day that is somewhat bittersweet filled with both wonderful and bitter memories. However, we made it against all odds and as long as he is beside me we can face whatever the world throws at us.
