As we approach 12 months of on-off lockdown, could this new children’s adventure app be just what we need to get the whole family out of the house?
An education app that promotes children getting outside, exploring and exercise are just what we have been waiting for as the dark nights lift and the cold snap eases.
HuGo Explore
HuGo Explore turns family walks, outings, or rainy days into an interactive immersive adventure. This unique idea uses GPS, animation, and l educational gameplay to get your little explorers outside, exercising and learning. There are adventures suitable for ages 3 to 6, but it really is something the whole family can enjoy.
“It has been an incredibly challenging year for parents with young children and finding ways of keeping them entertained is getting more and more difficult. We came up with the idea for HuGo Explore during the first lockdown when out on a walk with my three-year-old son. We noticed he would use his imagination to make the walk more interesting and we started to go further with the idea to develop storylines and challenges around the walk. Since then, we have spent the last 9 months working hard on turning this idea into an interactive app that can be used outdoors with GPS but also indoors when the weather is not ideal” Alex, HuGo Explore creator
The app works by dropping checkpoints around a route that you choose or create, each checkpoint plays the next 3D animated video in the adventure and challenges your little one to solve educational puzzles and games in order to move on. Each video lasts for around one minute and the games are designed for 3-4- or 5–6-year-olds.
