Is there anything more exciting to kids than being able to go in their own backyard and play? Want to create a fun play area for your kids? Keep reading to find out more.
When I was a kid the kids who had a jungle gym or special play area in their backyard were the lucky ones. Never having to go far from home, or wait for mum or dad to be able to take them to the park, backyard play areas are the best way to get kids outside and playing rather than watching tv, playing on electronics or other gaming systems. And it isn’t hard to create a fun back yard play area not does it have to be expensive.
Play Equipment
Some play equipment is very expensive, but not all. When making a play are on a budget, think simple. Create simple tree swings as a way for kids to have a swing right in the back yard. It doesn’t take up much space, but it can keep kids active for hours. Ropes Direct has a lot of choices to find the exact play equipment for you.
Sandbox
Kids love to play in a sandbox. Some parents are hesitant because some of the commercially made sandboxes are expensive and they are also might not come in a size that works for your play area. Get plywood to create a sandbox. You will nee a piece for the bottom and for the top as a cover. Use cut down plywood for the sides as well, or use whatever scrap you might have. Visit a home improvement store to get clean play sand or you can order it online.
Race Track
Playing with cars and trucks are fun, but what if there was a section made up of roads or obstacles. Using old wood, paint it black and create roads on it. You can also create dirt tracks in the ground, clear out section to work as the roads or trails and then add rocks as obstacles. Another idea is to take old tyres and fill it with sand or dirt and the tyre itself is the road. Once you start thinking outside the box, the possibilities are endless.
Creating a special play space outside is a great way to get kids outside and off the couch. Use these easy and inexpensive ideas to create a space your kids can’t wait to play in.
