It is getting harder than ever for busy moms to juggle a career, a social life, and a family. It is too easy to get jammed up with one obligation or another when things don’t fit into their neat little schedules. As a result, active moms need some booster tips to help them maximize their time while still taking care of their basic needs.
Please read our suggestions below for some ideas on how to stay healthy when your schedule is overbearing.
High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
HIIT training is a must for busy moms who want to stay lean and attractive. It is easy for us to become creatures of habit and let our daily grind dictate our lifestyles. Savvy moms know how to squeeze in exercise regimens without hitting the gym. HIIT uses quick interval sets of calisthenic exercises to raise the heart rate. HIIT also burns out oxygen supplies by intense activity to the point of breathlessness. Busy moms can take several moments during the day to pump out some jumping jacks, squats, pushups, or a sprint run. The only barriers are psychological.
Doctor Visits Via Smartphone
Active moms can take advantage of online doctor visits by speaking with a fully trained and licensed doctor over their tablet or smartphone. Avoiding the waiting rooms and getting to the heart of the question when you have basic health needs sets aside time for all the other family circus activities. Of course, you will still need to stop into a doctor’s office for more serious matters or various tests when needed. But if you can eliminate any of the procedures by seeing a doctor online, it’s a big win-win in time management.
Prepared Meals
You can still eat healthy every day without having to spend excessive amounts of time preparing individual meals. By making large scale meals and freezing the food in separate portions, you can take a few days off a month to prepare all your meals. Chest freezers are relatively inexpensive and pay for themselves in avoiding costly restaurant bills.
Digital Mailboxes
You can have all your snail mail and bills sent to various digital mailbox addresses to be sorted and scanned. This is a big timesaver and stressbuster that allows you to organize all your important mail without having to worry about the kids or someone else in the house misplacing it. When you have a digital mailbox, you can also take care of important matters while you are outside of the state or overseas. You choose which pieces of mail that you want to digitize and can also have the mail bundled and shipped to different addresses.
Power Naps
It can be hard for busy moms to get a wink of sleep. Between their jobs, babies crying all night, sick children, and private time with the spouse, things get a little hectic. This is why busy moms in need of sleep should try to schedule in power naps during the day to revitalize. A power nap is best during the afternoon, between 1:00 and 4:00 PM. It could be anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes in length but should never exceed 30 minutes. When you nap too long, you’ll feel grogginess and a mind fog that is hard to shake off.
These are just a few time-saving ideas that can help busy moms improve their health and lifestyles. There are many more ideas that moms can think up in the same vein to improve their time management and to maintain optimal health.
