The Julia Donaldson books beautifully illustrated by Axel Scheffler have been family favourites for many years. Whilst The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom will always hold a special place in our hearts. The animation of The Highway Rat shown on TV at Christmas really made the story come alive for us and has been watched many times over.
Whilst Mr Boo and Roo were undertaking the Go Ape Thetford treetop adventure course at High Lodge. Tigger and I took the opportunity to take a trip into the forest at High Lodge to see if we could discover the Highway Rate for ourselves on their new Highway Rat trail.
What can you expect on the Highway Rat trail?
Head into the forest in search of 10 Highway Rat-themed panels. Each one offering fun facts and activities to try. Along the way, look out for characters from the story, complete rubbings of foods from the storyline and take your picture with the life-sized Highway Rat ‘Wanted’ poster!
