A little boy that is sitting on a bench

October 22, 2016

Last month we decided to purchase a new car. A 7-seater car so that we would be able to fit all three children in as well as friends and family members. One of the things that soon became apparent was that if we were to use all 7 seats we would be unable to take Piglet’s pushchair with us. The limited boot space that we were left with after putting up the rear seats meant we could only get bags and a small suitcase within this space. There are of course, times when we go out and we might not need to take Piglet’s pushchair with us but I do like to have it available in the car ‘just in case’.

At just 10 months old Piglet still requires her pushchair quite a lot, however, some of our family adventures make it difficult to always use a pushchair. For example, when we go to the beach, visit restaurants and travel on trains etc.

The new gb Pockit Stroller promises to allow family life to continue, do matter how much to travel, the places in which you go and the adventures you might have.

Space saving

Knowing what little space we have in the boot of our 7-seater when we have the rear seats folded up I was amazed at how the gb Pockit Stroller not only fitted but looked positively tiny, leaving me additional space for the changing bag and any other bags we’d require for the day.

Assembly

Arriving already assembled and folded up, it is simply a case of removing the packaging and unfolding. Which is great if you purchase at the last minute before travelling or whilst on holiday.

Folding Options

The gb Pockit Stroller offers two different folding options. The first is the everyday folding option, where you don’t unclip and fold up the back wheels. So that when the gb Pockit Stroller is folded it stands up on these wheels and is even able to be wheeled across the floor. Perfect when you are in a restaurant, heading to the cinema or on days out when you will be popping the gb Pockit Stroller up and down.

The second is the complete folding option, which is slightly more fiddly as you need to release the catch on the back wheels, fold these inwards before completing the fold. This then gives you the smallest possible fold for the gb Pockit Stroller. Perfect for stowing in an overhead locker on an airplane or train or within your suitcase.

I did struggle to flick it open as I had seen on demo videos for the gb Pockit Stroller, however, this could be down to the fact that it is a new stroller and needs to be open and closed a few times before it relaxes. The fold is a little fiddly, especially if you are doing the complete fold and not something that I have been able to complete with Piglet in my arms.

Shopping Basket

It is lovely to see that there is a little bit of a shopping basket included on the gb Pockit Stroller, given the compact size of the stroller you aren’t going to get lots in there but can at least store some nappies, wipes, keys etc.

Sun Canopy

The sun canopy I feel is a little unnecessary on the gb Pockit Stroller it doesn’t shade the child in any way and with the smallest gust of the wind it flaps up into the air so I opted to have this hanging down the back of the stroller for the majority of the time.

Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…

The gb Pockit Stroller is a lightweight, travel stroller. Ideal if you travel frequently, need to access areas that you can’t get a conventional pushchair or need something that is space saving. It is light and easy to manoeuvre with an adjustable handle height.

The seat is a good size and I feel would comfortably sit a child up to 17kg. The 5-point harness is easy to adjust and nice to see that the extra length is tucked away inside the padded shoulder straps. Piglet seemed quite happy sitting in the gb Pockit Stroller, the 5-point harness kept her secure. The slight incline of the seat meant that should she have fallen asleep her head would hopefully not fallen forward.
