Just like that, the first week of the summer holidays are over. Tomorrow I make the drive ‘up north’ to take Roo and Tigger to see my mum. They will be staying with her for two weeks and whilst I love that they get this time with her, it doesn’t mean that I won’t miss them like crazy. However, I have such fond memories of staying with my grandparents in the summer that I know they will have an amazing time.
Read
With the past few weeks proving very busy for one reason or another I haven’t had much opportunity to pick up a book and read much. A visit to the Amazon wish list event last week, however, cemented my wish for a Kindle so that I can read wherever I am. From swimming lessons, on the tube or in the garden with the children. The Kindle Oasis has stolen my heart and I may have dropped one or two hints to Mr. Boo.
Watched
It’s been a week of extremes with the final of Love Island, I’ve enjoyed this series far more than I expected. Then on the other end of the scale, I finally managed to watch the first two episodes of Game of Thrones. As I watched the first episode I suddenly wished I’d rewatched the last series as I couldn’t remember what was going on and had to keep asking Mr. Boo (one of my many annoying habits).
Heard
Finally, after weeks of mishaps, I managed to get my new car stereo installed. It’s been a bit of a headache due to parts not being ordered, wrong parts being ordered and then a delay in fitting – but it is in and I love having access to DAB in there as well as connecting my iPod much easier on long journeys.
Made
During one of our trips to London this week Tigger got the opportunity to get hands on in a workshop. Firstly, marbling paper to make a front and back cover for a notebook, before learning how to fold the paper to fit inside the notebook. It was lovely to see his face with such concentration over something creative.
Wore
A trip to London to visit the Hetty Feather Exhibition at The Foundling Museum earlier in the week. Roo had managed to have plaited hair so fitted in a treat when dressing up in the costumes available.
Lastly
What an amazing first week of the school holidays. I don’t feel as though I have stopped all week, however, the children have had fun.
