The Frugi Back To School range is a fun and colourful collection featuring coats made from recycled plastic bottles, coordinating backpacks, lunch bags and bottles. Perfect for little ones getting ready for back to school or nursery!

In the blink of an eye, the school summer holidays are almost over. It’s time once again to start planning and organising everything for the new school year. As a parent, I have a love/hate relationship with school uniforms. Understanding why schools have it for a whole host of reasons including making it fairer for children to wear the same collection of clothes. As well as making it easier on parents to have those clothes/uniforms for the different activities school throws at our children. Plus they do look pretty adorable in their uniforms.

That being said, it does take away a child’s ability to showcase their own personality, style and colour preferences. Whilst there is nothing that can be done to change the school uniform collection at least the Frugi back to school collection enables children to express themselves with their choice of school bag, water bottle and jacket.

Frugi Back to School

One of the things that grab your attention about the Frugi back to school range is the bright, bold, colourful designs and styles. Allowing children to mix and match across the range – whether they like to go for a matching, co-ordinating look or pick designs and colours based purely on the love of the animal etc.

Partnering with the blacks and greys of most school uniforms you can spot a Frugi design easily on the school run and hung up in the cloakroom. Piglet is a big fan of all things bright and colourful with the Frugi collection appealing to her and matching her cute, bubbly and carefree personality.

Did you know that Frugi donates 1% of its turnover to charity,
so every little thing you buy from Frugi helps to make a BIG change.

Frugi Globetrotter Satchel

Frugi Globetrotter Satchel B
The Globetrotter Satchel is out of this world! This classic, retro-style satchel is perfect for storing all your little one’s essentials ready for a day of adventures.

Key Features

  • Shoulder strap AND padded back straps so it can be worn two ways
  • Should strap is adjustable and detachable
  • Handy front pocket
  • Top carry handle and name badge
  • Reflective details
  • Eleasticated side pocket, perfect fit for the Splish Splash Bottle
  • Spacious inside for books and folders
  • Made with recycled polyester

Over the years that Roo and Tigger have been at school we’ve utilised a number of different bags. From book bags to backpacks, however, always feeling as though there is a compromise or design flaw on them. The new Frugi Globetrotter Satchel offers the nest of both worlds as the bag can be carried as a backpack or via an adjustable shoulder strap. Each to switch from one to the other depending on whether Piglet is carrying the bag or I have somehow ended up with it.

Inside the main compartment is split into two sections allowing for us to easily separate her reading book and papers from her spare set of uniforms. A further smaller zip pouch on the front of the bag is perfect for carrying her school snack. To one side there is an outer pocket for holding her Frugi Splish Splash water bottle. Easily accessible for her, although can pull the bag down on one side when she is walking due to the weight of the drink making it unbalanced

Large Splish Splash Bottle

Frugi Large Splish Splash Bottle
Stay hydrated when out and about with our reusable Large Splish Splash Bottle! Perfect for at home, school and for popping in the side pocket of backpacks.

Key features

  • A sustainable choice to avoid single-use plastic bottles
  • Stainless steall is rust, corrison and stain resistant
  • Capacity 24fl oz / 700ml
  • DO NOT fill with hot liquids
  • Handwash only
  • Not suitable for children under 36 months

Back in the good old days when I was at school, we used those melamine spotty cups at snack time for a drink. Nowadays, children have ready access to a drink throughout the school day y taking in their own water bottles. We love the Frugi Splish Splash water bottles and have a few of the older designs with a straw lid, however, the new design features a cup lid – I’ not 100% old on this as Piglet finds it difficult to tip up the bottle in order to get a drink but I think after a few days she will get the hang of things.

Reversible Toasty Trail Jacket

The perfect everyday coat! This shower resistant and quilted Reversible Toasty Trail Jacket will help to keep your little one warm and cosy when off exploring the great outdoors.

Key Features

  • 3-piece hood for a fab fit with an elasticated front for better visibility
  • Elasticated hem and cuffs for keeping the cold out
  • Reversible zip fastening with a handy zip pull and a guard to protect little chins
  • Two fleece lined pockets on both sides
  • Reflective print details
  • Made from 100% Recycled Polyester with a warm and cosy wadding
  • Durable water repellent and Fluorocarbon free finish to help prevent stains and extend the life of the jacket
  • Warmth rating: ** Mid insulation – Ideal for colder days when it’s a bit nippy out! – 3.7 Tog rating

Generally speaking, the children only need one winter coat, however, to a child the prospect of wearing the same one day in, day out is boring. Bring in the Frugi Reversible Toasty Trail Jacket that not only houses an array of fantastic features it can also be worn as a solid colour coat or turned around to feature one of Frugi’s beautiful designs. Quite frankly, I’m pretty jealous of Piglet being able to wear her coat whichever way around suits her mood on any given morning.

Bright, colourful and beautifully designed whilst being eco-friendly and most importantly machine washable for all those days when they bring home more mud and dirt than there is left in the playground. But dirt equals a fun day at school and it all comes out in the wash at the end of the day. For wet and raining days when puddle jumping is on the agenda then I recommend looking at the Frugi Puddle Buster range – so bright, versatile and doesn’t let the rain spoil play.

How do you let your children showcase their personality whilst conforming to wearing a school uniform?
