This year will see me made redundant from my day job. With a redundancy package heading my way I should be planning for the future, I should be putting it away for a rainy day, however, I am thinking that we should take the children on a fabulous holiday. A chance to reconnect as a family, a chance to visit somewhere special, a chance to watch the world go by whilst looking out across white beaches and blue seas.
Mauritius is one of the places that Mr Boo and I have often talked about visiting. One of those, when the children have left home we’ll visit type of conversations. However, why do we need to wait until the children have left home? There are a wealth of things to do in Mauritius for the children, here are just 5 of the things to do in Mauritius with children…
5 Things to do in Mauritius With Children
Semi – Submarine Trip
Take a trip on a specially designed boat that features a big glass windowed hull to enable a fantastic underwater view, arousing the illusion of sailing in a submarine.
Suitable for all the family, you are able to get up close to all the marine life without having to get wet – although there is an option to go snorkelling if it takes your fancy.
Crocodile & Giant Tortoises Park And Nature Reserve
The Crocodile & Giant Tortoises Park which is home to various species of animals, reptiles and plants is set in a beautiful rain forested valley with natural freshwater springs, full of prawns and fish.
As part of your visit to the Crocodile & Giant Tortoises Park, the park’s guides will guide you through some unforgettable walks, and you will stroll through luxuriant greenery where banana trees, palm trees and giant bamboos provide shade for the crocodiles and the giant tortoises.
Mauritius Aquarium
If your children are a fan of visiting the SEALIFE Centres here in the UK then the Mauritius Aquarium is one to put in your must see list when visiting Mauritius.
Home to a large number of species including over 200 species of fish, invertebrates, live coral and sponges, originating from the waters around the island you are sure to see something you have not come across before.
The Sugar Museum And Factory
Who says you can have fun and learn something at the same time, a visit to The Sugar Museum and Factory will do just this.
The Sugar Adventure has the mynah bird and the mongoose to tell children of the extraordinary story of sugar. These two mascots will guide the children all along the visit, offering entertaining questions and answers to be found under envelopes placed in various places in the museum and in the factory.
Kids Adventure Park
A holiday wouldn’t be complete with an activity park visit and the Kids Adventure Park offers an array of activities and facilities inside for the kids park such as the inflatable bouncers, the trampoline, the treetops course, the pedal go-kart, aquatic jets, car racing, pony rides and many more.
