Dear Roo
Last week you came home from school with a letter from your beloved Mrs B inviting you to take part in the GY7 Dodgeball competition.
Of course you were eager to take part and how could I say no to you when you were so thrilled to be asked. I did question if you knew how to play Dodgeball but you told me that you had played this last year at infant school…
‘Mummy, you have to make sure you’re not hit by the ball so you have to dodge it or catch it’
As you’re not much of a catcher I did advise you to stick to dodging.
This afternoon you have come home excited and pleased to have come fourth in the competition. Full of tales about how you were the only one left on your team at one stage and you had to run so much not to be caught out.
For you it was about taking part and the honour of being invited rather than the winning, this way of thinking is something I hope you remember throughout your life.
Love you Mummy xox
