Last week I took Roo and Tigger to see the new Disney’s Cinderella film with some friends of ours. Roo has long been a fan of the Disney Princess, however Tigger has recently began to pay attention to the story after completing a pre-school project on Cinderella.
After watching the film it was funny to listen to the different reactions to it, Tigger was full of all the details like the Fairy Godmother getting squished in the green house by the pumpkin, the greedy mouse Gus who liked to eat all the cheese and of course the fact that Cinderella lost her glass slipper. Roo on the other hand loved the romance of it all, from Cinderella falling in love with the Prince without knowing he was a Prince, how cute the Prince was (she is at that age where the leading man is generally cute!) and of course the beautiful dresses that Cinderella got to wear to the ball and her wedding.
Whilst I know that the story of Cinderella means a lot more than just the gorgeous dresses and handsome Prince, sometimes getting lost in the magic of a sparkling fairy godmother’s wands and glass slippers is what is needed. In many ways it was refreshing to listen to the ladies who had come to see the film (and sat behind us) gasp at how beautiful the gowns were. I sat and smiled to myself as I listened to them discuss what a wonderful shade of blue Cinderella‘s ball gown was, the sparkling glass slipper and the awww at seeing Cinderella in her wedding dress – I certainly felt much better knowing I wasn’t the only grown up in their longing for a dress like Cinderella’s, especially her wedding dress.
Courage & Kind

The Cinderella image on the front is a simple and understated version of the classic Cinderella film wear Cinderella sees her ball gown for the first time. The addition of a few small silver gems adds that little flash of glitz to the top without going over the top. Fastened at the back with a button hidden by a classic silver bow adding that luxurious feel to the top.

There is a wonderful range of Disney Cinderella dress up and accessories available from Disney Store. An amazing limited edition Cinderella costume, limited to just 3500 however it will set you back £160! There are a variety of accessories available including Cinderella’s glass slippers, jewellery set and wedding accessory set. My personal favourite is Cinderella’s wedding dress.
Disney Cinderella Wedding Accessories Set
Since Roo was about 4 years old she has had wedding dress fancy dress costume in her dress up box, it still comes out every now and again (although it is getting a little tight). Over the past four years we have witnessed her getting married many, many times with the addition of various tiara’s that have arrived in party bags. So when the Disney Cinderella wedding accessories set arrived at the weekend I just knew that she would be one happy little girl. If I’m completely honest I was a little reluctant to hand over the tiara from the set as I’ve taken a bit of a shine to it (I wonder if I can find a reason to borrow it…).
