We all have a dream home somewhere in the back of our minds. This is the kind of house that ticks all the boxes, whatever they may be (and however vain and frivolous they are as well!).
A lot of people think their dream home is just a pipe dream however, as trying to both find and afford a new home is one of the hardest things in the world. If your dream property is out there somewhere, it feels like you’ll never get anywhere near it!
But what if the home you currently live in could be turned into your dream home? If you own your property already, and you’re happy to consider making a few changes, you could end up making your property dreams come true.
What are Your Future Plans?
Because you need to match them to the size, shape, and structural integrity of the home you currently live in.
Are you going to want to expand the family, whether by having kids, adopting pets, or allowing an elderly relative to stay with you?
What kind of garden space are you looking to have, whether you want to become the family BBQ person or simply run your own kitchen garden for the summer?
What are you going to want from your house in the future? And is the property going to be capable of fulfilling these wants? Think on this for as long as you can, as answering this question is probably the most important determiner of all.
Is Anything Missing?
What would it take to make your current home into your dream home? That’s the next question to think on in this matter.
Is anything missing right now that your dream home absolutely must have? And don’t be afraid to admit the truth here; if the fact that you don’t have a breakfast nook has always gotten to you, write that down on the list!
Or perhaps there aren’t as many bathrooms as you’d really like? Or maybe you’re just keen to get your own walk-in wardrobe attached to your bedroom?
Whatever it is that’s missing that would really seal the deal needs to go into your budget and layout considerations.

Once you get the experts to weigh in, you can start to genuinely plan. This plan may involve converting your current home into more of a dream home state, and that’s very exciting! But it also may involve finding somewhere else to live.
