This is a gifted partnership
With Piglet getting older and getting to the stage where we need to think about moving her from the Cozy N Safe Merlin car seat that she has been using for the past two years (which has been fantastic, other than the seat cover bobbling). We were kindly sent the Cozy N Safe Arthur car seat to try out with Piglet.
As this next generation car seat is suitable from birth all the way up 12 years (approx). It is one that will last her until she no longer requires a car seat, Plus it means that we can utilise it for Tigger or one of his friends should we need to by adjusting the seat height etc.
Let me share with you my first thoughts on the Cozy N Safe Arthur car seat…
First impressions of the Cozy N Safe Arthur Car Seat
When the Cozy N Safe Arthur car seat arrived, the outer box felt quite large. And I have to confess to worrying about whether it would be too big in my car to have three children sitting side by side. However, once out of the box it didn’t look or feel as bulky as I’d initially thought – just great packaging. Available in a choice of three colours I opted for the Onyx which is the all-black design. It is also available in red and graphite.

Installing the Cozy N Safe Arthur rear facing
The first thing I noted when coming to install the Arthur car seat in the rear facing position is that it utilises the cars three-point car seatbelt rather than ISOfix. Which in an age where the majority of cars have ISOfix available I was a little disappointed to see this.
Installing the Cozy N Safe Arthur using the three point car seatbelt is relatively easy (as shown in the video below). With the lap section of the seatbelt placed over the seat unit of the Arthur car seat and hidden under the seat padding accessed via poppers. The chest strap os then pulled out and around the back of the Arthur car seat and threaded through the relevant guides, depending on which side of the car you are installing on.
This does mean that the car seatbelt goes from shoulder height over to the car seat, forming an obstacle when you come to put your child into the car. For little ones this isn’t too much of an issue, but for toddlers and preschoolers this can prove tricky to do.
Installing the Cozy N Safe Arthur Forward Facing
When it comes to installing the Arthur car seat in the forward facing position you have the option to do this via the cars three-point seatbelt or via ISOfix and top tether. We have the Citroen C4 Grand Picasso as our family car, which has ISOfix and tethering points so I opted to install this way.
Installing via ISOfix is easy to do and can be completed within minutes. Pulling a lever located under the front of the Arthur car seat releases the ISOfix bars. Which can then be pushed into place onto your cars ISOfix points, With a green indicator letting you know you are locked in place. The top tether is located in the back of the car seat. This needs to be pulled out and attached to your tethering point in the care (ours is located on the back of the cars seat unit). I did install this incorrectly on my first attempt by placing the strap under the headrest rather than over the top of it. Which meant I wasn’t able to adjust the recline of the seat unit correctly. So worth double checking with the video below and your cars manual.

Our first impressions of the Cozy N Safe Arthur
When it comes to car seats I have to confess that I tend to shy away from the gimmicky ones, bright colours etc. The three different colour ways available for the Cozy n Safe Arthur enable parents to opt for a stylish look to their child’s car seat, whilst still adding a small pop of colour should they want to in red and graphite. We opted for the Onyx which works well for us.
I do like the different options available for installation, giving parents the choice as to whatever works best for them and the model of their car. This being said, it does mean that it isn’t car seat that I would want to have to move from car to car regularly due to the time and double checking required when installing the car seat.
