Have you ever watched those DIY shows on the TV, the ones where they transform the lives of a family in need. Those families whose lives for one reason or another haven’t had a good run of things and need a little helping hand to get them back on their feet or the facilities they need to carry out the everyday things in life.
I have watched those programmes and the countless volunteers who have given up their time to help those families and thought how much I would like to get involved – Giving something back to my local community, helping another family, helping to transform the lives of someone who needs a helping hand.
Recently a collaboration between Kids Company and Kiddicare saw the Colour a Child’s Life campaigns come to life and help transform the life of a mother and her child. The project helped transform a bedsit from somewhere that really wasn’t suitable for a young family into a warm, comfortable and welcoming place for them to live their lives.
Several bloggers including Little Stuff, Mumma G, Bottom of your ironing basket, Mari’s World and Me and My Shadow all gave their time to help this worthy cause. Please take a look at the transformation for yourself…

Disclosure: I have not been asked to promote this campaign but I feel it is such a worthy cause
